Our car - Honda stream has been detected with air con compressor problem. Kah motor said need $1.5k to change.does it sound right?

:yikes: mine is not a stream but $1.5k sounds expensive. We changed our aircon compressor for $800.

Just to get some opinions from the drivers here.

Do you change everything that the mechanic suggests? How do you judge whether it is necessary to change the parts?
No. Usually the authorized agent's mechanics will come up with a \"to do\" list and my hubby will assess before giving the go ahead. But he has some formal training in car mechanic/repair works so he probably can assess better than an average car owner.

But so far, we are really happy with the authorized agent mechanics. Even the cashier will advise us when to sign package...

The only time we turn to someone else was when the batt was going flat. So boh pian, got it changed at one of those mechanic shops at petrol station.

Anyone has any tips on how we can prolong the life of the battery?

Someone told me before - off the sound system/head lights/aircon etc first then off engine. The rationale is to reduce the shock factor when the engine is turned on again. Got such thing?
