Hi all, need some advice here pls. We are going for a 2 weeks holiday to Orlando fr end Jun to early Jul. Have booked the flight & accommodation at Disney Value Hotel thru out our stay. Haiz! Shld hv book 1 or 2 nites at Hark Rock at Universal but we wanted to skip US initially as our boy is only 6yo. But, dh feels that since we fly all the way there, we shld at least go & hv a look. We intend to cover :

      1. 1 day outlet shopping,
      2. 5days in WDW,
      3. 2 days Busch Gdn (Ticket price is 1+1) ,
      4. 1 or 2 days in Universal (Is IOA better than US?) We’ve already been to US in LA, Japan & Sin.
      5. 1 day for Legoland
      6. 1 or 2 down days for relaxation.

Anyone knows if there is free transportation from Disney onsite hotel to US? We found out that buying theme park tickets online from undercovertourist.com is cheaper than at the gate. But they do not provide free shipping to Singapore. May I know where do you guys buy your tickets? Can share the lobang?
We don’t have any dining plan included in our trip. Is it necessary? Is it expensive? How to go about it?

Appreciate any info and feedbacks. Thank you very much 🙂

U sure u wanna go Busch Gdn? I have not been there but I understand that it is gd for its roller coasters. If u had thought that your 6yo is too young for Universal Studios, then the roller coasters at Busch Gdns may not be appropriate too. Furthermore, in terms of theming, I don't think Busch Gdn is up to Disney or Universal standard.
        4. 1 or 2 days in Universal (Is IOA better than US?) We've already been to US in LA, Japan & Sin.
I recommend 2 days for Universal especially if you do not have express pass. Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be crowded too. IOA has more thrill rides while US has more indoor rides. Good rides at US which your 6 yo will enjoy is MIB and Simpsons. These are not in Singapore. Others like ET are at LA but could be fun still.
        5. 1 day for Legoland
        6. 1 or 2 down days for relaxation.
If you have time, I suggest a visit the at least one of the disney waterparks and Disney quest.

Anyone knows if there is free transportation from Disney onsite hotel to US?
No. Disney only provide free airport trf via the DME and tpt within WDW.

I buy my tickets as a package direct with my Hard Rock stay as I wanted to have reserved bf sitting at 3 Broomsticks. I didn't mind paying more just so I don't have to queue to eat at the restaurant. I understand that you can pick up the park tickets bought through undercover tourist from their info counter in Orlando. You can get details from them
        Otherwise
We don't have any dining plan included in our trip. Is it necessary? Is it expensive? How to go about it?
Disney dining plan is only available to those who book package with Disney, ie buy hotel and park tickets. If you buy your park tickets from undercover tourist, u cannot get the dining plan.

There are 3 diff types of plans
        1.Quick Service
        2.Regular Dining Plan
        3. Deluxe Dining Plan
You can check out Disney website for details of the diff plan. We were previously on the Regular plan and plan to do the same for our upcoming Dec trip.

I will not bore you with how we use the plan now as I'm not sure if you are getting your park tickets as a package. If you do plan to use it, then let me know and I'll explain as best I can.

Appreciate any info and feedbacks. Thank you very much 🙂
Pls see my response in blue above. If you need further clarifications, feel free to ask.

I didn't stay at a Disney hotel, and the family we went with had lived in Orlando before, so we rented a car and drove around. You can get an international driving licence fr automobile association. Its easy to drive there, event though its on the right side of the road.

We didn't get any dinning plans, and didn't do more than lunch at the parks anyway. The parks are hugh, and just walking around them from 9am to 6pm tired us all out - including the adults. We had holiday apartment complete with a fully equipted kitchen, so we'd cook rice or noodles for dinner.
I think there's a tourist bus or trolly that runs up and down international drive, and stops at Universal Studios. Premium Outlet at International Drive provides free shuttle buses to some hotels. But you may have to wait for the buses.
I skipped US. My girl's not into Harry Porter, and after 7 days of rides, rides, and more rides, one more day at yet another theme park just didn't seem as attractive as hitting the stores. OK. I admit, I went crazy at the post Thanksgiving sales there. Harry Porter just couldn't compete with Premium Outlet. 🙂

Just produce your Singapore Driving Licence & it’s good enough to rent cars from any rental companies in US so make sure you have your Singapore Driving Licence with you. Yes the roads & car parks in Orlando are wide so it’s very easy to drive.

Thks everyone, for your opinion and kind advice. Like Laura02, my son does not know who is Harry Porter yet, so WWOHP is not our main priority. Busch Garden was highly recommended by most of our friends who visited that theme park before. So, we will give it a try as our son likes animals alot… We do intend to rent a car for the first 2-3days to go outlet shopping and Legoland, after which we will stay probably move ard using the free transport in WDW. Thks Honey for the info on the driving license.

WDW is giving free dining for stay in Disney resorts, valid through Nov and Dec on selected dates. I had already booked my package with dining plan. So i just called disney yesterday to change my hotel reservation from the Contemporary Resort theme Park View room to the Polynesian Resort Theme Park view room. Saved USD1400 for our 11 nights package. The same Package at the Poly would have cost us USD1000 more then our original booking at the Contemporary without the promo. So real savings is USD2400! Yippee!!

Check out the promo if your are planning to go WDW 🙂

WWOHP - Kids who have read Harry Potter will love it! As an adult, I liked it too although the price of tic was a little steep.

Check google maps online to show the public buses that you can take from bus stops near Downtown Disney. Can take the public buses to go to Universal Studio but I cannot remember the bus number.

You may want to bring your own packed food to WDW. Nothing too obvious. Sandwiches, bananas, muffins etc to save on food cost. Food is really expensive at the theme parks and the queues are long

Thanks. We are staying 11 nights at WDW and 5 nights after at Hard Rock at Universal. Will be renting a car for the last 7 days or so. I've checked prices of car rental. Very reasonable, about USD300+ for one week for a Std SUV with GPS and booster seat. A sedan will be even cheaper.

As for food at Disney, we are on the dining plan so no need to bring food. :))

Hi all, I’m not sure if this had been covered in the thread already …i’m new to KSP, might have missed it out…

I’d like to ask for advice - for those who have been to florida/orlando, how did u cope on the flight (should be around 24 hrs??) with a toddler (1.5 years)? Easier than expected? Or you would advise against bringing a toddler on such a long haul flight ?

                        TIA.
