CNS:
Pls advise on the following synthesis and transformation.

May says : \" We have eaten our lunch just now \"
May said that .............................

Do we change just now to earlier on ? TIA
Since the time adverbial (\"just now\") is present, it may be better to use the simple past for the question:

1) We ate our lunch just now.

(http://www.perfectyourenglish.com/usage/just.htm - near the end of the page and http://www.grammaring.com/present-perfect-with-just)

And use the present perfect as follows:

2) We have just eaten our lunch.

Personally, I think the closest replacement for \"just now\" is \"a moment ago\" or \"a moment before\".

Active to Passive voice? Did you mean from direct to indirect speech? The two are different concepts.

Yes, active to passive.
I know, indirect and direct speech is different from passive and active.
1) The police were very frustrated that they could not catch the drug smugglers.

2) Did anyone tell him the good news?
Sentence (1) appears to be already a passive sentence, with the active structure as follows:

(1a) That they could not catch the drug smugglers frustrated the police a great deal.

For (2), the passive voice is:

(2a) Was he told the good news?

What answers did your school give? That might shed light on question (1).
