      Hi jeanieg,

I have to same dilemma as you. My eldest is a boy in SVPS. I’ve registered my 2006 gal in SVPS. i’m surprised to see the 20 vacancies & thinking withdraw from SV and register there cos I have a 3rd who is a gal too.

But husb refused cos he don’t want a heart attack in case anything goes wrong in Ph2c or 2cSupp and lose a plc in SVPS. Besides, he said he doesn’t want logistics nightmare of 2 kids in diff sch and SVPS is walking distance from our home while IJ OLQP must take sch bus.

I decided to stay at SVPS for my gal.Hope I make the right choice for her.

I Was also suprised why there is still so many seats left after phrase 2c…

is it that the school standard have dropped or what? is this norm for past 3 years or just for this year? it is so difficult to estimate and judge for next year registration…

          Hi mommies

Thank you for all the feedback. After much consideration and reading all the various inputs, I have decided to stay with BTPS. Reason being my older gal is already there and is very happy; am not too sure what P2Csupp will be like and BTPS is a decent school.

CHIJ is a good school too but I guess it was not meant to be our school. Thank you once again for your valuable comments.

I'm suprised too! This year I managed to enrol my gal with more than 2km address! :imcool:

I was there on the 2nd day of 2C registration fm 2pm to 330... Due to some issues on our location used.
There were afew parents there to do the registration and who drop by to check the vacancies available. My guess for the low application rate, many were PRs n they didn't want to take the risk due to the new SC vs PR rule.
Within 1km r mostly PTE hse and those within 2km rather try BPRS as they shd b within 1km n given the new rule, they may hv higher chance for BPRS hence more seats left for 2C supp.

we registered on Day 1-- and at 2:30pm , there were only 2 PR registering for the school (including myself)..the principal also told me that they cannot assure me a slot because I am a PR, and that every year they conduct balloting as OQLP is a sought after school in the Bukit Panjang area..

your observation that there are more private houses/condo in the vicinity is quite true... in addition

a few months back I received invitations for Open House at Zeng Hua Primary School, and it looks like a very decent school too. The Open House was full packed and I wont be suprised if most parents decided to go to Zeng Hua instead... giving OQLP more breathing space..

so Kiasuparents recommendation for parents to go for the nearest school seemed to work...this year..

Any advise on what to bring and the duration of the Orientation?

                  Thanks in advance.

                    hi winkasiao,

finally a fellow CHIJ OQLP parent, I also received the letter from CHIJ OQLP saying that orientation is on 3 Nov. will also wait for answers to your question....

btw our neighbors (twin girls are P3 at OQLP) were so excited about my dd geting into OQLP// the parents even offered to take my dd to school (they have a car).. but I respectfully declined the offer

Yes, I agree. It's difficult to judge next registration. I guess Year 2006 just happen to have less baby girls. Anyway, I have no doubt that OLQP is a good school. Base on feedback from my 2 girls in P3 and P5. No regrets putting them in OLQP despite distance from home to school. We live outside 2km. The school bus support is good.

Hi parents, may i know how much do you give to yr dd everyday for school?

I give my gal $2/day. More on days that she has CCA or remedial. They typically spent about $1 plus and save the rest.
