You are more than welcome to join us for the BBQ, with or without tempura. We share tips like which tuition Ctr is good, what books are suitable for our kids etc; not necessarily talk only about sch's stuff.

I believe that parents play a big role in our kids' education. If we work closely [and intelligently] with our kids, the impact will start to show after 1 mth; and it'll be obvious after 1 yr.

I mean how much attention can a T overseeing 2 classes or more give to each pupil? But as parents we can give the all them attention in the world.

Guess what I'm trying to say is as long as we ensure that our kids don't end up in an ah-beng sch [BT and BV are good schs too], they will surely do well with our guidance. Conversely, without our help, it'll be more challenging for them to do well even if they're in a top sch.

i totally agree what you say. We as a parents really play an important role to our children. I'm just lucky that i'm a SAHM and able to spend more quality time with my DS

XYZ1's ds got in via waitlist in Dec, IJJ's dd via transfer at P2 and Jennifer's ds via transfer at P3 I think.

Let say your ds has to be in another primary school and on PH waitlist, strive on better results as it will yield better chance of being picked. HTH!

Can I ask from fellow parents here what is the timeline now that the phase 2C is over:


1) When will the school send a formal letter to us informing our child has been accepted into the school?

2) When will we need to go down to purchase uniforms, books etc. Heard that it’s in Oct. Is it done at the school?

3) How much is the school bus per month. Is the rate charged according to distance from the school or a flat rate? Roughly how much a mth?

1) you should receive a confirmation letter with date of orientation.
2) there are a few days to purchase uniforms and books, but not on orientation day. order online after you have received book list, make payment via credit card and choose a day to collect...much faster as there is a separate queue.

Hi sweet mango,
Popular will have a 20% discount in late Nov/Dec for assessment books. As for textbooks, you enjoy 5%. Can save a little, but still have to buy exercise books, files, uniforms and certain titles not allowed for sale at popular. Why not get all from school for P1?

Ok I found it in HW website. Does it mean we have to reach school preferably 12:20-12:30? And the child/school bus will leave at 6:30?

I am not a very hands on parent hence I only know about Pei Hwa Chinese steaming in primary 1 last month. May I know if this is true? Do they test and stream the kids in may or November? And what does it mean by Chinese streaming? Top 5-10% goes to best class and so on and so forth?
