Cannot say PR taken up rate is not significant so we just open one eye and close one eye. What is right is right and what is wrong we must change. If u experience balloting before you will then know that even ONE vacancy makes a big difference to all parents. Some school went into balloting just because of that ONE vacancy exceeded.

If MOE were to put SC priority before PR throughout registration can you imagine so many more SC parents and their kids can succeed to get into their preferred school within 1km, 1-2km and even for those out of 2km.

There will be lesser disappointed SC parents in KS forum.

I am a Singaporean so my main concern is for our own Singaporean friends after which then our PR friends. Isn't this what our fellow Singaporeans want our garmen to do?

Again, I repeat, SC ALREADY have absolute priority over PR within a phase. And I agree this is the correct direction.

They have a choice. If they give up their chance, and it is picked up by a PR, then, why blame the PRs? Why don't they zero in on THAT school from the start and not take the risk at the other school's ballot? They would have gotten the place.

I am SC, and I feel the priority within a phase is good. However, I don't feel pushing PRs to P2D is \"right\".

Give priority to SC is fine, but not discriminate against the PRs until they are left with, not only the \"leftover\", but the \"leftover of the leftover\".

If the govt want to promote SG as education hub, extreme discrimination isn't the way to go..

Do u know we were constantly threatened to be jailed should we try to evade our duty. Do u know many PR enjoy the best of Singapore education, some even get scholarships, but they gave up their PR or didn't return to Singapore.

Do u know Singapore is the only few countries where foreigners can work in our civil services or our GLC companies.

if rotating HOD doesn’t work, what is the reason behind the continuous success of certain schools against others? for example kids at bukit timah areas, so many branded school except bukit timah primary. those that cannot success in p2c supplementary or phase 2c will definitely go to bt timah primary, it cannot be all those that go to bt timah primary doesn’t go for enrichment and lessons outside. and it cannot be so coincidence those that fail on the balloting are the not so smart kids. why MOE keeps letting all these schools continue to be "not branded". if the gap of academy achievement is still far amongst the schools, there must be a reason behind it.

I could replace the word \"you\" with \"one(someone)\", to reflect a general comment in relation to topic and not to individual.

Why don't you ask the other members of the forum whether they read it as a general comment in relation to topic or a personal attack?

And at which point did I turned aggressive?

And why should I? I am not affected by any of the policies in relation to P1 registration.

It takes a combination of leader, management, heads, teachers, system, processes and culture to work together before a school can see the desired results. A mere rotation of HOD will not help at all. A good and effective HOD who get posted to another school may not be as good and effective because the management and teachers do not see eye to eye with the HOD. The poor HOD will get so frustrated and may leave the teaching profession altogether.


This explain why when there is a change of leader, there will be staff turnover. This happens in schools too, not just commercial organisations.

I served NS and as at now, still have to go for IPPT every year, not like many of my peers who MR long long ago even thou they are years younger than me. Ya, you heard it right, younger than me but MR years before me.

As of now, SC does have priority within a phase. and I totally support it.

They just have to make the right choice at P2C.

If there is a P2D, and certain school became like concentration camp for PR kids.. do you feel it is good for the nation..? is it really good..?

But I agree PR should not enjoy P2A priority. That, is really not desirable.
