Catholic Primary Schools

Hi. I found out your child doesnt need to be Catholic. One parent must be Catholic to get into Phase 2B. But being Catholic also doesnt guarantee a place if the Catholic school is very popular and there are more applicants than vacancies. No priorities are given in Phase 2B to religion. Priorities only given to those living than 1KM followed by 1-2KM if applicants more than vacancies.

2) No. St Hilda's is not a Catholic school. It's a Christian school. Anglican - related to St Andrew's, St Margaret's etc. So you cannot use your Catholic baptism cert to get into Phase2B. Only chance is Phase2C or you PV.can anyone help me with these doubts:
1. must parents and child catholic to entitle catholic school?
2. cos i intend to let my kid in st hilda's. if st hilda's catholic school?
thanks. -

Oh, I get what you mean now. No, they are not affiliated to boy school such as CHS. I don't think if there is any affiliation between girls and boys school. I maybe wrong. Just can't see how is that possible unless CHS decided to take in girls from girls school for their IP programme. -
Hi everyone -
This forum has been very informative.
I’d like your thoughts on what my chances on SJIJ Phase 2B > 2km. I’m specifically looking for data/statistics in the balloting history in this phase the last couple of years.
We are catholics and personally am inclined towards SJIJ given that it has secondary school affiliation.
I’m also considering the possibility of moving to a place that is closer to SJIJ to increase our chances.
PS: I’ve posted the same on 2 other threads but didn’t get any response so I’m hoping that posting here will bear fruits.
Thanks in advance. -

For balloting at Phase 2B >2km, it's 1 in 3 this year. In 2011, it's 1 in 8 iirc. For 2013, I predict the chances are lower vs 2012. -
Better to move nearer SJIJ if that’s what you really want.

Thanks for the earlier response on SJI Jr.
I’m getting very anxious and am think about other alternatives. I hope the information gathered here and from research, etc. will help everyone make informed choices on the day of registration.

We are Singaporean Catholics and personally am inclined towards Maris Stella given that it has secondary school affiliation.
Thanks in advance.
