hi VitoRelax
u have misquote the wrong posting.
the one u had quoted is not by me.
no wonder, u make me blurr when i saw my name but the content of the posting seems unfamiliar :?
to be exact, it was the posting of justsay.VitoRelax:
It is okay to put the first two with school higher COP than your score because the probability of having 2 students with the same t-score is quite remote because all students are ranked according to decimal places (i heard is a minimum of 6 decimal places).
But must remember to put the last choice with a school which has a lower COP as a precaution. -
VitoRelax:
I would recommend only 'First choice' be above your scope, becasue you have to consider that COP this year may go up. In such case 'Second choice' COP might just end up same as Your score. It is okay to put the first two with school higher COP than your score because the probability of having 2 students with the same t-score is quite remote because all students are ranked according to decimal places (i heard is a minimum of 6 decimal places).

This makes third choice very important... you child must be prepared to go to 'Third Choice school which has COP lower than 2nd choice.
So there is no point wasting both 'First ' & 'Second' Choice . Just choose one of the 'Out of Reach' school from 3-4 that were your dream, but now a not a 'Possibility'
4-5-6 choice you can put these schools as you can appeal to these schools & some school asks your choices in appeal form -
My DD t score 244. As we stay in the west, so considering Nan Hua High and Crescent Girl as the 1st choice. Can someone compare and share yr tots as to which is better? we r very trouble as the 1st choice is very important cos believe she get get into any of these 2 schools as they COP is 243 and 242. Pls help

Thank you for wishes.dadofgirl
u're welcome. i simply just input what i know of.
for some areas that i am unsure of, i also seek replies/clarifications from this site. there're indeed many kind souls here.
it's ok to try a school which is 3 points above as 'First choice' ( so long not too many points off), otherwise u're simply losing 1 of the 6 choices.
wish u all the best. -
Is Nan Hua niche in Maths and Science? Thank you.

QUESTIONS:
1. How does the Appeal process work ?
2. Fill up a form or go see principal (not sure if Principal wants to see us ?)
3. If say we got 2nd choice but wanna appeal for first choice, when appeal at first choice school, are we allowed to enrol at 2nd choice school ?
Thanks -

Cut-off for EESIS based on inputs from DD classmates & this forum.Hi Spiderworld,
Could you explain why you think this year's COP for the various schools will drop based on EESIS. Also, where do you think the cut-off for this year's EESIS is.
Thanks. -
Hi! Need advice, please. I would consider my son an average student, marks fluctuating high and low during his first 5 years. He had always wanted to go to VS and he worked hard this year to follow his dream. He scored 263 - something which I sincerely never expected. My ‘problem’ now is, should I not try for other good schs too? He’s adamant about his choice, and do not want any other. Would I be short-changing him? Personally, VS is convenient as it’s close to our place and I want him to be happy and be not too stressed in his school life. But at the same time, I do not wish for him to be deprived of opportunities. I am hesitant about IP schools, as what if he does not do well in his A levels?
Does anyone has children in VS who can fill me in with the school environment? Thank you so much in advance.
