Specialised Eye treatment for myopic kids?

my 9yo DS started wearing glasses for Astigmatism when he was 5. Before that, he was always tripping over something. Now that he is 9, his astigmatism has gone up a few folds and has myopia of 475/450. That is an increase of 150 degree every year! I am so worried now. Yet he cannot wear the special Crizar (spelling?) lens that can help slow down the myopia. I know Lasik is for adults 21 and above, you think it is possible to do it like before he goes into the army or something? By then, I think his myopia at least 1000degrees already. :scared:

think not so good as the eyes still developing. better to do it after eyesight stablise.

Yup. It’s not good for your child to have lasik now. He is still growing so give his eye a chance to heal itself. Consult several experts for natural food that they can suggest to help the natural healing process.

Thanks for the replies. I don’t mean lasik during childhood. Just asking of the possibility of some treatments if his myopia gets very much worse by the time he enlists in the army. I heard fr the optician that there is an eyedrop fr eye specialist to relax the eye muscles and not strain the eyes further (for controlling the myopia), has anyone’s child tried that? Even with glasses, DS can’t see well and often made mistakes in his h/w because he saw wrongly. Sigh!

I changed the title because it might have been rather confusing. I was asking for specialised eye treatment (or operation) for my child but it's okay for now. Have arranged to see an eye specialist and hopefully I will have an answer soon.

Cos optical shops always recommend myopia control lens
