Wonder if anyone could advise me about edusave for independent schools. My daughter's S1 form does not mention edusave subsidy for independent schools. Does it mean I have to pay full amount of school fees if my daughter goes to SCGS or MGS?
:?
I wd think so. The form will indicate the eligibility of your child -
* EESIS
* SAP
* HMTL
* third language
I just realised that not all the students hv ALL the above shown on their forms. So I think it will show what the kid is eligible. -
My girl’s form does not indicate HMTL. Got merit cannot take HMTL in sec sch?
-
DD HCL got Merit (not distinction). will she be offered HCL in sec sch? Pls enlighten
-
hi caroline3sg, julongmum,
if you’re eligible, it would be indicated in the letter attached to S1 option form. Else, during reg for HMT at the sec school, the child would be advised how to appeal. I think, this is what I heard. -

Only received 1 seal proforated S1 form with no other letter, did it mean that HMT not offered? -
It is actually a page on its own between the first page and S1 option form. The subject is :
Eligibility of your child/ward.
1. Your child has taken the 2009 PSLE. Based on his results, he is eligible for the following. blah blah blah -
According to the booklet, you are entitled to take HMTL if:
a) you are ranked top 10% of PSLE cohort; or
b) are in the top 11-30% who meet the language criteria of A* in MTL or at least a Merit in HMTL. -

What is the chances of appeal?
I am not sure if really cannot, it may affect my choice of sch:
3rd choice: Woodlands Ring (has HMT, COP 216 - 250) old building
4th choice: New Town (has HMT, COP 217 - 236) old building
5th choice: Orchid Park (no HMT, COP 212 - 236) new building
My girl likes Orchid Park. Building nice. I asked one aunty on the road about the behavour of the students here. She said okay, good.
Pls advise.
Thank you
