      Imami:
      Way2GO:

Spraying/injecting WD40 into bearings is bad advice.

      Has WD40 formulation changed?
WD40 was originally formulated to remove rust.
If ur bearings needs to be lubricated, wat u need to inject is lubrication, definitely not a rust remover (WD40 consists mostly of petroleum solvent) which will also remove/contaminate whatever lubricant which is in d bearings.

If d fan motor bearing is worn out n causing excessive noise, adding lubrication is only a temporary solution. Some bearings hv solid lubrication - u cannot top up lubrication for those.

Hubby said the similar things! He said just leave it (the fan), activate the aircon if need be And we would change the fan one day....(when the fan retires).

Maybe motor dying soon. My previous fan also slower by the minute and finally boomz... Not working. But hot is good, time for second baby don't u think?

You referring to yourself or Imami ? 😆

Btw, you still want to change your avatar ? If yes, you will need to let dr ksi know what you want - bouncing peas / pretty girl pic .. Or let dr ksi has a free hand on designing a new avatar for u ?

Aiyo, me not hot now. So second baby not referring to me. Avatar needs my girl’s approval. My present avatar was selected by my girl. She says "mummy, mummy choose this pretty girl" if I don’t listen to her, she will nag me to death…

Because ermine is a wall mounted fan, I dread the thought of having it removed (spoil my wall paper) and re-mount a new new (the new one may not \"fit\" exactly and end up with some patches on the wall paper).

I really need help. It is more than just saving energy. I seem to be very forgetful recently. I have been leaving the iron on for hours after using. Anyone could recommend an energy saving iron that will auto switch off if left unused for a period of time.

The thought of having a hot iron left unattended really freaks me out more than wasting electricity.

                  Let me give 2 suggestions:

                  1) Make it standard procedure to pack away both the iron and ironing board after each session.

                  2) Put a timer at the plug. Set it to switch off after 1 hr of use. And extend when needed. This way, it'll be 'on' for not more than 1 hr.

How much is your PUB bill each month? My monthly bill used to hover around $180, but recently started to increase… alll the way to $290 last month!

No major change in lifestyle. Anyone experienced the same?

$180?? That's pretty good. Mine averages around $300 per month.

But yes, peaks are quite normal. Have you turned on your aircon more often last month due to the heat?

                        Which part has shot up?

If the electricity , then like Chief mentioned it can be due to air con.
If water, check for leaks. A leaking tap/flush tank drains a lot of water.
