Thank you. Chinese is her strongest subject.
then you MUST appeal. She can easily get 2 bonus points.

Wonder if anyone could advise me about edusave for independent schools. My daughter's S1 form does not mention edusave subsidy for independent schools. Does it mean I have to pay full amount of school fees if my daughter goes to SCGS or MGS?

:?

I wd think so. The form will indicate the eligibility of your child -

* EESIS
* SAP
* HMTL
* third language

I just realised that not all the students hv ALL the above shown on their forms. So I think it will show what the kid is eligible.

thank you sesame246. I guess I have to pay full fees then. Sigh. 😢

Well, I'm just a kid, as my name says. (12 this year, choosing school too)
According to my choosing your secondary schools book, every student is ranked by merit. Here's a scan. Read it for yourself. I DO NOT OWN THE PICTURE BELOW.
It is actually a page on its own between the first page and S1 option form. The subject is :

Eligibility of your child/ward.

1. Your child has taken the 2009 PSLE. Based on his results, he is eligible for the following. *blah blah blah*
Mathsparks - many thanks. now then I realise such letter is part of the form. My DD is being offered 3rd lang and HMTL

Yes. This is clearly stated and illustrated in the MOE PSLE Booklet 1 and on its website. A resourceful 12 year old has also kindly scanned and reproduced that page on this forum.

Yet a couple of sec school teachers told me this is not the case... They say if put the preferred school as 1st choice even though a couple of points short from COP, we'll miss the boat, as in end up even second choice can't make it even though qualify for it cos others of similar score who put first choice get it first...

What Teacher says should be from experience.... i guess system must be placing all 'First Choices' at one go. Remember for Affliated schools , first choice has to be processed before the non-affliated processign takes place... it might as well done for whole cohert!!!!

Better safe than sorry... Put first choice which has COP less than your child's score :roll:

Anyone can share if A scored 256 + 3(HMT) = 259 vs B scored 257 +1(HMT) = 258 and both choose SAP school X as first choice. Who will be rank first and get posted first?

TIA
