Anyone from the Bukit Merah side? Was considering River Valley Pri, so I went to their website and it states PV for 2008 kids have already been closed. Made me start to worry. I m an old girl from CHIJ Kellock but I'm thinking of puttin my gal in a co-ed school. I am considering between Radin Mas (1-2km from my place) and River Valley Pri (within 1km). Its rather risky to go for Radin Mas as they close all reg within 1km. So safer bet is still River Valley, but its still balloting for the within 1km. Any advice on which is a better school? Thanks.

Less than 1km just go for RVP. sure get in.

My feeling was the same as yours and I was contemplating to move <1km just to grant for balloting and the chance is little. I cldn't believe why being a catholic and we have to go thru such a pain to get God's child into a catholic sch. So, I decided to call up the school. I'm more relieve now and I drop the idea of moving house after talking to the choice of schools.

U meant u checked Catholic school so long u are catholic, kid can entre regardless distance?

Hello! Need some advice. I had been intending to apply as a PV for scgs but learnt that it is almost impossible to get accepted. Is it too late to apply as GRL? I do not stay in the GRC in which scgs is located but we plan to buy and are looking to purchase a property there.

If you like the location and plan to stay there irregardless of whether your dd can get into SCGS, by all means do it.

On the other hand, if it is the sch you are after, there is no guarantee she will be able to secure a place just becos you own a property near the sch.

Similiarly, PV and GRL route will enhance your chance in getting yr dd into the sch but there is no guarantee.

You have to be residing within Moulmein-Kallang GRC before any RC or NC within the area would consider your request to join them.

Based on past trend, yes to both questions. However, if in the year of registration for your child, applicants > vacancies balloting kicks in.

in view of recent balloting statistics / results for 2013 P1 intake, if you want peace of mind -
wiser to join (Phase 2A1 + be an ACTIVE alumni member)

when you're active, (Rulang Principal knows you personally + you are aware of what's going on (recent events taking place in your school) - so that you're well faciliated to guide your child in all aspects of Education matter, even before your child start Primary 1)

if you're sleeping, (Rulang Principal doesn't know you at all + you're not kept in the loop of recent \"current affairs\" / events happening in your school)

Nope: being catholic doesn’t mean one can enter the choice catholic sch regardless of distance:( it really depends on which catholic school of choice)
