P6 boy went missing before the PSLE oral

Another reason that I think (am speculating here) is that this boy wants his parents' attention ... IIRC from the report, he always has a few tens ($10 notes) in his pocket (my dd for one doesn't carry so much $ with her at any point of time) - his parents could be too busy for himFlowermonaster:
According to the CL newspaper, it is the second time that he ran away from home.
Wonder if his parents know that it's a sign of him being stressed out or just think he is being rebellious?
like i said - I am speculating ... Best is for his parents sit down and have a heart-to-heart talk with him.
that all will be well for him and his family. :please:
Wow.. So much money. I only give my boy $5 if he needs to stay back in school for supplementary class.

Is PSLE a must for the age of 12 or should MOE consider , Let the children proceed to sec one with prelim result!
Using Prelim results to proceed to sec sounds possible, but what happen if all of the students want to go to the same top schools? Moreover, school Prelim papers' standard vary and it is difficult for the top schools to differentiate the brightest ones from the average ones. -
In my opinion , for P6 just CA2 and prelim . 2 exam is sufficient . And from the prelim result select the best for entry test to top school that will be fair.

This is a definite no go. You must have a common exam to be fair to the whole cohort of 55000 student from more than a 100 different schools. Also the SA1 is necessary for DSA.
National exam is here to stay. Meritocracy, demand and supply forces for top schools and parents anxiety will continue to fuel this education system. What's important is to ride the waves, don't be the wave or get drowned by the wave. Be realistic in our expectation and all will be well.
Look at it this way, if you worked hard enough for preliminary, you can relax already and just go thru the PSLE. After all you'd have reached a saturation point after working so hard since Jan. The interim tests are just kick in the butts to make sure you don't leave all revision to the last minutes. What's important is know when to chiong and when to rest. -

Did you feedback to MOE? You may check with your girl's classmates to re confirm. I think the examiner does not sound professional to me. Being a teacher, he has to carry himself properly in order to gain respect & set a good example to the students.Just over the Oral on 1st day, my girl oral was MT. Got 1 male examiner, he is like freestyle swimming position led on table, look like half dead when he doing the oral.....
Can the PSLE examiner have such behavior??? And did not show respect of the candidates...is totally affect the child's... what can i do?? -

LOL I would be very shocked if that happened to me. I wouldn't be able to focus properly either.

Some schools have 2 Prelim before PSLE. My boy's school will be having 2nd Prelim after his one week holiday, which is just right before PSLE. 5 exams in total. Agree with Osim, PSLE is here to stay. -
