personally, if my son break any rules, i rather he do it when he is schooling. at least he will learnt it the hard way as compared to if he breaks the rules when he enters society, there might not be second chance.
This works better if he has a supportive parent like you, not an indulgent one. -
Nowadays parents over-protect their children too much. I pity that teacher and thumbs down to the parents who complain.

i stand by the teacher. if warning issued, onus is on boy. mother obviously to blame for trying to bring in $60 hair cut.
what is not said if the boy and teacher had history (not cpib kind) before?
also, i blame the school principal the most. why never back own teacher?
A child not following the school rules may be barred from entering the school, but it does not give the school authories the right to cut the student's hair.
If the spirit behind cutting the child's hair doesnt seem to be so that he would score well for PSLE. His initial haircut wasnt so bad that an examiner would be put off. So cutting his har before the exam was more an act of humiliation than geniune care. And that could affect the child's performamce more than that initial hair cut.
when a letter was given to the child's parent , did the teacher try and email/ call the parent?
Somehow , i generallly support the teachers' role and stand by their side when they bend rules for the sake of the child rather than have dont-care attitude but in this case the intent does no seems right. -

It was reported in the papers that the hair cut before was 5 days prior to the oral. -

yah, but what about the \"before'' picture? Can it be his 2 months ago's hairstyle? (and length!)
I just had my hair cut yesterday, but it's still 15 inches long.... -

Could it be she apologized because she is not ready to be a private tutor yet?
Could it be due to the mounting pressure from ppl with mentality like yours (and that waste taxpayers' $$ mother)?
