Will there be a student care inside the new Mee Toh school?

There has been talks of setting up a student care in Mee Toh since the start of upgrading a couple of years back. No concrete details have been made yet and most likely, if there is any, the student care will be housed in the new ISH block which is yet to be completed (the one still being constructed at the other end). I think we can keep a look out for more details from the school and respond positively if a survey is going to be conducted.

As the ISH block is only going to be completed somewhere at the end of the year, the opening of any student care, if the school decides to open one, will not be until mid-2013 or 2014.

Maybe you can enquire directly to the school?

just to find out more information.

if i am a old school student, isnt cmf that i can enroll my son in without any volunteer work?
And do i just show them my report book that all or they do need to see the results of the parents b4 allowing them to enroll their child in

Under MOE's provisions for the different phases, you would fall under Phase 2A(2):

        \"Phase 2A(2)

        (a) For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the primary school of choice\"

It's not necessary to furnish your report books or results. Your child will be taken in based on the provisions above without further screening. Besides, no school is authorised to screen parents prior to accepting the child in. Well, at least not for this phase.

Traditionally, MTS has more vacancies than applicants under this phase, so, your chances are pretty high!

but how do they know if the parents studied in the sch b4.

I have a suggestion, if you may. For children this age, they really need a routine set so that they can work on the routine themselves and see to it that they follow it through on a regular basis.

It seems that his handbook is no longer working for him as he still has anxiety after checking through it. Maybe you can get him a whiteboard in which you label using permanent ink the date and the list of things to do. Everyday when he reaches home and has had his dinner, you can get him to write down the things in his handbook on the whiteboard along with the date. As he completes the things he needs to do, he can mark it out with a giant tick using a different coloured ink.

Before he sleeps, he can just refer to the board to reassure himself that he has completed and packed the stuff that he needs for the next day. This way, having a large visual reminder will give him a sense of ease as he ends the day and prepares for bed.

Maybe as an added reassurance, you can tell him that mummy or daddy will refer to the board and check his bag after he sleeps to see if the things he needs to do or bring has been done or packed. If he manages to do them, mummy or daddy will give him a sticker. Collecting many stickers will earn him a treat. However, he needs to know that you won't do this all the time as you would still want him to be independent. The checks will just be to earn him stickers (though really, sometimes you just want to check his work).

This way, he will be more motivated to keep tabs on his responsibilities and he will face less anxiety in ensuring that his work is done.

I sincerely hope he doesn't continue feeling this way. P1 kids should be excited to go to school and be excited about Mondays (:[/quote]

          Hi itskryptic
Thanks so much for your suggestion - sounds very workable. He seems fine with school otherwise, and it is worrying for him to have Monday blues at this stage!! I'll try this with him!
          :thankyou:

You can wear other black shoes. My dd has been doing that even though we bought a pair from school.
