What is this Tenrikyo Mission Center? Location? Details?
It's at International Plaza, very near Tanjong Pagar MRT station. 25th floor. Can't remember the unit number, sorry, but I know it's an even number. When you get out of the lift on the 25th floor, you can see that the units have been \"arranged\" according to even or odd numbers. Just go to the even numbers side and look for the door labelled \"Tenrikyo\". Telephone number is 62214035. Call after 3pm and before 8pm. Ask for Lucian who will give you more details. He's the receptionist/admin staff there. (Er, if he's not back from his Japan trip yet, the principal will pick up the phone but don't worry, the principal is young and speaks good English.)

As I mentioned in other thread, we are having this 走一步,算一步 mentality as I agreed with another parent, its not easy to sustain till year 4. My dd scored A2 for French in year 1 and she is continuing next year. However, when come to year 3, as they have to choose the subjects, we shall see how things go by then.
Yes, 3rd lang can be tiring, 3 hour, lesson with 15 mins break. Travel to another center. Clash with other school programes, then have to go for make up lesson. So many students drop it gradually, can be quite demoralise.

just want to share about third language - japanese. I signed up at Hougang japanese school for basic elementary japanese level one and i must tell you, it is fun. then I proceeded to level 2 and guess what at the end of level 2 i did not go for the exams cos my girl was taking her PSLE so i thought might as well forget it. It is not easy as you progresses into it. Different grammar usage, adverbs, verbs adjectives. must practise katagana, hiragana writing etc. But I am old you see so maybe cannot learn things as fast. Unlike the teenagers, they can grasp things faster. But i believe if you are in it and yet has no time to revise, to do homework then what is the point of taking up? You will have to give up something to continue with the third lang. But no harm trying, since allowed to drop anytime, then just go ahead sign up for it but be prepared, it will be rigorous and time consuming…

Yes, the organisation is religious in nature but they don't expect you to follow them. No religion is preached. They will interview you to find out why you want to join them though they are fully aware that most go there to learn Japanese. I told them that I love the Japanese culture blah blah blah. They even have Karaoke - Japanese songs only, of course. -
No 3rd lan for my dau 4 years ago, she never regret, 90% drop out finally, those remain also get bad result.

hope ah boy dont see what luckystar has written.
Even if drop out eventually, the thing is they've learned a new language, time management, life is not a bed of roses etc. We shouldn't link everything to academic results.

Thanks insider. Yr girl’s Os are superb!!
My son is going into the program with eyes wide open. He knows he can quit anytime he wants and we’ll fully support his decision. We won’t turn around and say ‘so sayang’ why not do all the way. His mental health is more important. -
I see. triple science :!:

I am sorry for what I wrote, there must be a reason for you to opt 3rd lan, if you like it then do it, not to worry since you can drop it anytime.
