Collected Maths paper yesterday. My dd said 'mummy, you just sign on my paper, don't ask me any questions. Zip zip.' 🦆

She performed below expectation for this Maths paper. Her class average is below 35. Teacher was pretty upset and told them the entire class need to go remedial.

Lucky asked to go remedial and not Q at TLL!!! 😆

BTW, is 35 the baseline? Think it's pretty high coz I remember it being 60ish% during my boy's time!

Kids are very smart to go round to put bad news across...
For DS, he started off by telling me xxx scored 2x, yyy got 2x., zzz got 3x.. all these are the usual bright ones. Then he asked me what is my expectation of his result. So in other words, he had mentally prepared me for the worst !

            GiftedGem,

heard from my DS that the T mentioned that no full marks in sch yesterday. Average score unknown yet as they have yet got their papers.

For NSW, the computer skill results and the science one are out. We didn’t sign up for writing hence now left with english and math.

For Sci, my DS sch like rushing through the digestive system and plant system within 1 week of lesson. Now they are into light.

            Just4Fun,
sounded just like my boy ur DS. My DS only choose inform me the 1or2 lower than him … those higher one when i asked his usual reply would be "I do not know".

Gee, I've no idea which topic Science teacher is teaching now.

My dd didn't bring home any Science worksheets.

Actually I have no idea what topic Maths teacher is teaching either.

Never occur to me to ask about teaching progress.

For CT, I just asked her to revise worksheets in the files. Then she auto pilot her own revision.

Eh, perhaps I'm too slacked :scratchhead:

Yes, indeed gals seems to be better in the academic at this phase.
I am hoping he can clear all his papers... his test results all not out yet.

Your DS knows all his results already?

Sleepy : Good that the tr has offered remedial lessons - free tuition & save $$$ from gg to TLL.

Talking about Sci, I was discussing with DD on digestive sys which tr has provided worksheet. In the picture of disgestive sys, you name the parts and to provide 2 functions for each part. Then, a qn comes along asking : Why is the digestive system is a system? We were thinking hard how to answer as it seems too simple. Obviously, it is made up of many parts to form this system. Guess what… in the end, DD leaves the qn blank waiting for tr to explain.

Hi all, long time not come to this thread, so glad to see all of you are here! 🙂

Dadong99, our ds in same school, you mean your ds2 already brought back the math paper? I didn't hear anything from my ds. He just hinted me their math teacher is bit worried....

Does anyone know if they will bring back the report book for the CT2 score, or just the test paper to sign?

                        GiftedGem:
For SA2 HCL Test in Oct, TR informs that the kids have to do situational writing. Moving away from Picture Composition. The last situational writing done by the class, the highest score is 33/40. Most of them are hovering 23-29 marks. TR expects most of the kids may have difficulties in moving to situational than picture writing which will result in lower score.

Hi GiftedGem, really? Do you mean in SA2 HCL they can only do situational writing, no choice for Picture composition? As I remembered in May, when met with ds 's HCL teacher, she told me better choose picture composition to avoid 离题. Also I can see they only practise for just once in situational writing so far.
