I think the teacher teaching in Singapore Post Branch on Sunday is teacher Joyce because my nephew used to be under her but now changed to AMK side cos of clash with swimming..:) Yes, I agree teacher Joyce is very clear. He is now under Teacher Joanne which we also find is good.Teacher Joy also teaches in Singapore Post Branch on Sunday,
she has very loud and clear voice.
Teacher Martin is also another very impressive teacher which my elder DS like him a lot.hquek:
Hi phtthp,
DS is under Teacher Joy - 2nd year already. I'm not sure if she goes to the other branches, but we're in the amk branch. Then again, DS had tried out other teachers when he had to go for make up class and his verdict was that they are all about the same (ie teaching style) - just that I personally feel some may be stricter in marking and others more relaxed. -

I would say so based on my experience, the grammar questions they set tend to be quite tricky and they will set a few of the same types to drill over the weeks so that after a while I find my kids can remember and they have a grammar book which helps me to understand the rules as well.Hi
Does tas help ur child improve in grammar n creative writing?
Creative writing definitely. At first there is more memory work after some time, there is less as the kids prob get the hang of it. My kids enjoy writing nowadays and have no problem writing longer pieces..they used to struggle just to finish one page. -
How much is the fees for TAS? Please advise.

Since the teachers are not NIE trained, do they know the syllabus well enough for upper primary? Any feedback?

TAS, like most other centres, have ready prepared materials for all levels. These materials are probably prepared by someone who knows the primary school syllabis well. So, in actual fact, for most tuition centre, the teachers do not necessarily need to know the syllabus. They just need to follow the materials to teach accordingly. After teaching for some time, most of them probably know the syllabus by then. -

I don't think TAS teachers are NIE trained. But does that really matter if they are able to teach and engage the kids? -
NIE trained does not always equal good teaching. I have put my kids under NIE trained teachers but they cannot deliver. TAS has proper training system I think so anyway because the teachers tend to teach in the same way, with the same emphasis so it is obvious that they are trained and I find that centres who train their teachers well can be more effective than centres that rely on NIE to train their teachers…

is TAS a brand new set up ? How many years of history so far ?
