My dd1 teacher gives weaker students extra coaching FOC! She does it before school starts and during recess times. That's dedication!

wah salute that teacher. hope she doesn't get burnt out

Actually I thought this is like the norm :? My P5 and P4 FT and CL teachers will give tuition to the weaker students after school (AM session).

I heard from one mum she is trying to get one teacher in the same school to tutor her kids but must seek permission from the principal. I've not c her then, so don't know whether this is allowed anot.

        By right, NO.
Teachers are not allowed to give tuition to kids from same school. If teacher does that, it is direct conflict.

Private tuition shouldn't be allowed, I suppose. However, It will be strange if teachers aren't allowed to do it on 1-1 basis after school within the school vicinity, at no extra charge. I suppose you mean the former?

My daughter in P2 has remedial for English and math after school hours.

I am grateful for that small group coaching...bcos her teacher knows her weaknesses. Furthermore, my gal doesn't have tuition.

Dedicated teachers deserve a raise. :rahrah:

Wow that's really nice of the teacher janet. Actually I wonder if your daughter really needs remedial for English; yours is pretty good!

My spouse, who is a teacher, offered free tuition for the weaker students but guess what? They did not turn up!

He also used to give free tuition to students who have muscular dystrophy at AWWA.

the irony and insult right? the truth is, there is a correlation between the weaker students and the problem students, assuming that those kids did not want to turn up on purpose. let these kids be, if offer to help and they don't turn up, better spend that time on other students who appreciate it more.

Geez the kids are so oblivious to what they're missing out. Perhaps some of these students have mental barriers built up, and will need more than the offer of free remedial.

There are dedicated teachers...but some just don't appreciate.

My friend is a CL teacher. She has a student who stays in the next block...few days before PSLE oral, she called the student out for revision. The student told her, 'No need. I have DSA liao.' :faint:
Teacher is concerned and worried for the student...since staying next block, offered to give extra help FOC. She was so disappointed with student's bochap attitude.
