      I remembered during Poly...

I have girlfriends who already know what sort of guys they wanted to marry....
They expect their future hubby to be earning at least 3K...possess car....that was 20 years ago...

So they advise me must date guys who are working....
school boys no money....

So I tried the tanned and sporty guy...when was 19 year old...

But in my mind , I was hoping to find a guy that will love me....never mind about his pay.....(think back very naive...)

Now most of my girlfriends are happily married...they are rich tai tai, Docs wife..expect me alone....(really a failure)

:hugs: Don't say you're a failure. I admire you for your filial piety and dedication to your mum even if she's unreasonable.(read it in another thread). I :salute:

Also the quotes in your thread are inspiring to me... Let that be a source of encouragement to you too. 😄

        dolphinsiah,

U've surprised me by so willing to share. Really thanks for sharing!

I'm not surrounded by admirers and suitors.
Those like me, I don't like them.
Those I like, don't take action or action too late 😢 .
So my DH, I take action by asking him why u don't ask me out. Kekeke

              dolphinsiah,

I not so good girl like u. My mom don’t like my DH, first impression already failed. But I insist & mom don’t talk to me for almost a week. I still persist so in the end he is my husband. I’m not rich tai tai, with no maid or car or condo but I’m happy cause he dotes & loves me & we live simply.

So, should we choose a husband that love us more than we love him, as they always say?

How I met my late spouse....

He came to my house to help my tanned and sporty bf to deliver Chinese New YEar Gifts.... :skeptical:
He was my tanned and sporty bf colleague
Tanned and Sporty BF was trying to impress my with CNY gifts....

But we broke after CNY.... :gloomy:

One day out of the blue I received a call from a guy(my late spouse)....
He explain to me that my tanned and sporty BF is heartbroken ...he hope to help us to patch back..... :scratchhead:

I replied impossible, as our character did not match....

Late Spouse insisted I should meet him so he can full understand the whole picture... 🙏

Being a naive 20 year old, I believed him....and I went to meet him....
I did not know he was trapping me... 🤷

Looking back, late spouse was very cunning, once he hitched me...
He blocked all my options to interact with other guys... :scared:

When I entered the working industry , as a young woman , I have guys buying lunch for me everyday... :rahrah:

I was curious , about these free lunch...but was told that this is a norm to welcome new colleague.... :please:

Late Spouse was also very hardworking.....always calling giving sweet talk...

That year , dramas were happening at home between my emotional mom and irresponsible dad.....
So everyday , I wanted to get out of the house....

So of course late spouse, was always there.....to lend me his shoulder....

Because Mom was caught up in her drama actions..she did no have the time to stop me going out with late spouse....

So touched by late spouse caring....I ignored all other suitors...

                  I was only 21 then.....

The moral of my story is do not marry for the sake of marrying.....
If not because of my parents nagging and dramas at home...
I would not just grab any man ..to escape my misery....

Before I forget about it....who knows when I reached retirement around 60s I might have dementia.... :scared:

Yes, fully agree....choose a partner who always put your interest first....

I remembered , late spouse was very careful with $$$.... :moneyflies:
When he brought me to buy clothes....during dating.. was always the Sales section not the New arrival.....

Was impressed then ...because to me he was not spendthrift....

But after marrying him, I found that he always spend on himself....not on me...

So I married the wrong person..... :gloomy:
