I was directing at both posts. Her status as ex-teacher is irrelevant. It is a personal thing.

This is something stated already somewhere in the sea of posts publicly and just asking for a confirmation and if you have no idea why the question is asked, so how did you conclude it is irrelevant?

just imagine how long MOE takes to upgrade all pri schs to cater for single session… if MOE wants to reduce from 40/class to 25 or 18 they will need another 50% more or double the number of classrooms to make this happen… well nothing is impossible if gov is willing to spend but i doubt this is going to happen during the school years of our children, i think it will probably benefit our grandchildren if they start planning now…

Logistically seems quite tough.. Maybe they'll have to revert to double sessions again in the midst of expanding the schools? Really hope not.

Looking at our TFR (Total Fertility Rate) , all they have to do is keep the teacher count constant, and reign in the immigration and the existing schools will be enough for that class size for our grand schildren 😆

No no... we both know how to discuss without misbehaving. I was kinda curt I realize now that I am reading at my computer. The stupid smart phone... the keypad so small and so hard to type that I dunno how to add emoticons and all that... and then the screen slides here and there and I can't see what I am typing. Words so small. Old flower eyes...

All said though... I think MOE is WONDERFUL. It has shown by word and action. that it does care. I am just so very very grateful and happy.

Cher, don't worry I am always cool because I am an advocate of liang teh, remember? 🙂

However, I need to break this trend of saying things that I am not saying. It becomes a habit. If the habit is due to the iphone, ditch it and use the bigger Samsung Note II that is coming out soon. 😉

PS: I am not selling Samsung smartphones ah.... later another inference.. :faint:

If we are talking about quality of learning, shouldn’t we look at class size instead of teacher-student ratio (if the ratio is derived by total number of students / total number teachers).

Students mainly learn in classes, be it core subjects or enrichment subjects. Smaller class size allows students to participate more, teachers to manage the class better, teachers to understand the students’ capabilities/weaknesses better, hence increase the quality of learning right?
