I just went to Bali for 4 nights with my kids ,and stayed in Sanur. There were 8 of us as a family, took SQ.

Villa Seriska was recommended to us by a friend and I wasnt too excited at first as I have never stayed in a villa before, but this was great. You can cook, there is a supermarket nearby, all cooking utensils r there ,basically you get all the comfort you would need.
There is a driver too…its very safe. Thomas so really smart to take us where we want to go. I didnt find Kuta too exciting,as all shops were selling all the same stuff, and shopowners were not willing to bargain much. Go to Batuan in Ubud,if you are looking for beautiful paintings, and antiques.

I didnt visit Seminyak but be careful of one thing, I had to pay 150000 Rupiahs per person for departure tax.
They only accept cash.

December is rainy season in Bali, but still a good time to go. When I was there in early December last year, we had maybe only one day of light rain. Early December is also off-peak season so it's ideal if you want thinner crowds and a more leisurely holiday.
