I am aware that since last year, after accepting a DSA offer, one is not allowed to appeal to another secondary school.

What I heard is, since last year, after accepting the DSA offer to a 4-year secondary school or 6-year IP school, one is not allowed to change school for the next 4 years and 6 years, respectively. Is this true? I find it hard to believe that MOE would impose such a ridiculous policy.

Anyone has heard of any case where someone accepted a DSA offer last year and managed to get transferred to another school this year?

      Thanks.

That doesn't sound right and it would be silly to impose a no changing of school policy for the entire 4 or 6 years. But maybe parents from last year's DSA exercise have better knowledge?

If I din remember wrongly, during one of the tea sessions, one of the principal did warn/remind us that once a DSA offer is accepted, no transferring is allowed throughout the entire 4 / 6 years. So to consider carefully.
There is DSA in sec 3, can always try dsa for sec 3 to another. Furthermore heard somthing like ri students switch to hci or vice versa at yr5 . Correct me if i got it wrong. WAs it only for humanity course?

For those who received only WL, assuming your choice school still has no place for you after posting result is out (the worst case eventuality), how are you going to strategize and fill in the option form on 22 Oct? E.g. How would you indicate your 6 choices in the option form? Do you have to place as No.1 the school that has granted you a WL? Welcome your advice. Thanks!

I think the preference form on 22 Oct only has 3 choices. The 6 choices option form is for you on PSLE results day only if you are not successful or did not participate in the DSA exercise.

Even if you are not successfully posted to any school after the DSA exercise, on PSLE release date you can still put the desired school as first choice if you think you can still meet the cut off point based on the Sec 1 posting exercise.

Hi, what I understand is.....as long as one has accepted DSA offer, regardless of which year, not allowed to transfer to another school. However, there might be exception. Example given was .... DSA via sports but the student suffered injury and can no longer engage in that sport.....

As for students who went into schools via PSLE posting, they are allowed to transfer.

          This is my understanding......

I also know that a small percentage do switch from IP to O levels if they are unable to cope. For such cases, the school helps with the transfer if there is no O level track offered in the IP sch. I asked this during an open house.

Hi, for those joining the HCI family in 2013, under DSA:

Below are some dates to take note of. The Parents' Symposium is on 20th Oct.

I dropped HCI an email to enquire on a few things including if there will be school bus for Secondary 1 and the person in charge has kindly sent me the following:

                      Hi Flowermonaster and Yukilei,

I believe that HCI will send the information to all parents in due course.

The staff sent it me to me as I dropped them an email (@the enquiry email on HCI website) to enquire about transport for secondary 1 amongst a few things such as the time children need to be in school (the reply was \"Students need to be at the terraces for flag raising by 725am.)

Perhaps, I sounded like a concerned parent and the person has kindly attached the additional document for info too ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes, we need to book our calendar for 20th Oct. ๐Ÿ˜‚

                      See you.

Hi Yum Yum, mind to share about the transport enquiry? Though DS has not make up his mind, I'm interested to know abt the transport arrangement should he decide to go HCI. Thks
