Lasik

kiasimom:
I mean as long as it doesn't affect us a great deal, LASIK on the overall is still thumbs up :celebrate:
:celebrate: At least i m no longer considered legally blind.
I hv the starburst effect b4 surgery, within the 6 months after surgery, it got a little worst, but now its better than pre-surgery.
I am doing some reading about high defination yellow lenses that help to see \"clearer/sharper\" in low light condition. Will post my findings here when I come to something more conclusive.
I don't wear astig glasses, as I don't drive. But I am more careful whenever it rains heavily at night and I m out alone with DS.
Anyone here knows about a new surgery available at National Eye Centre for presbyopia 老花眼? My current condition may only last me about 3 to 5 yrs, so by mid 40s will still need reading glasses. Had inquired about another lasik in later years and lucky for me, my cornea is healthy/thick enough for another round. But if theres other alternatives, definately will give it a try. -

I tried a Oakley hi-def polarized glasses last week. It reduces the surrounding glare but the starburst is still there.I hv the starburst effect b4 surgery, within the 6 months after surgery, it got a little worst, but now its better than pre-surgery.

Hi Funz,
Do you think that the glasses don’t really help in the starburst effect? -
kiasimom:
It does not really reduce the startburst effect by much. But by reducing the surrounding glare it helps improve vision. So, so long as there isn't a cluster of lights around, the starburst effect is manageable. Street lights are placed a distance apart. So no issue. Only challenge is on coming vehicles. Their headlights may have starbursts that obliterate surrounding items.Hi Funz,

outsider:
Hi outsider,I started wearing glasses at 10yo.
I tried contact lenses when I was 14 but can only wear for 3 hrs due to dryness...
In 1999 May (about to get married in few months time), I decided to go for LASIK as I did not want to be a bride in glasses. I made the decision in 1 day.
There was a 1 month gap between the procedures for the 2 eyes. During that period, I had to wear glasses where 1 side is with power and the other is without. My eyes looked funny through the glasses, one big one small.
Done at Dr Jerry Tan, $7k for both eyes
My DH is willing to sponser my LASIK :rahrah:
DH's GP highly recommended Dr Jerry Tan.
I will be checking on his website soon. In the meantime, I was just wondering if you can elaborate on your experience. Were you satisfied with his services? How is he as a doctor etc ...
TIA -

I already told DH abt your recommendation. Today, he went to doc so he KPO KPO ask her lah.
So now, I am in the process of researching the above docs and clinics/hospitals.
Then must do eye evaluation, skali not a suitable candidate :faint:
Btw, I signed up for the free talk conducted by xxx at Paragon to get backgrd info. The talk was at 4pm. I had a missed call at 2pm from them. They wanted to tell me that the talk was at 1.30pm :whut:
When I arrived there at 4pm, the staff was so stuck up. Didn't want to admit their boo boo
Only aft I showed my displeasure that they put their act together ...
Anyway, wanted to sign up for the free eye evaluation, but changed my mind aft their lack of customer service

Hi autumnbronze sis,
I have a gf who works in the Lasik Clinis ;-0
Didn't go to them for surgery though
-
Lasik Clinic or Lasik Clinis?
-
Haha, so many happy Lasikers :celebrate:
I sponsored my DW Lasik last year as a B-day present, she says it is life changing. No more lens solutions and stuff when travelling, and there is the side benefit of her not having to spend so much time in th bathroom too
.
She had been wearing glasses since age 10, and contacts in adulthood, and is thrilled to bits. The irony? I have had perfect eyesight all these years, and now am beginning to get long-sightedness! So as she has come off glasses, I might have to start getting them for myself!
