            Hi

I flew with my toddler and preschooler to the Gold Coast recently.

In my personal opinion, Scoot is the best low cost airline right now. Best in terms of value for money and service. They use 777 planes and being bigger, the planes are more comfortable than say, Air Asia or Tiger.

You can choose the yellow seats and pay more for more legroom. On our flight to Gold Coast, we took the last few double seats at the back of the plane, thinking we won't be disturbing other passengers too much. That was a mistake cos we were too close to the galley at the back and were disturbed by the stewardesses preparing food and walking up/down the aisle through the night flight.

If you want, you can get the bulkhead seats in the front or middle of the plane (if you don't mind paying $99 extra for each seat). We did that on our flight back home and I was very glad to pay more cos my kids had space to stretch out or even sit on the floor to play. My toddler doesnt have a seat so I was glad she didn't have to sit on me throughout the 8 hour flight. If you pay for a yellow seat, you can sit on any yellow seat on the plane. We found a row of free seats somewhere in the plane for my toddler to stretch out and nap.

My only grouse is that being a red-eye flight, my kids had a hard time adjusting to sleeping on the plane. They take off close to midnight and start serving food at 1am. The lights were on throughout and my toddler couldnt fall asleep. I think they only switched off the lights after they cleared the trays and I think that's already 2am!

It's worse for Sydney bound flights, I've read somewhere they start serving food at 3am.

Nonetheless, I flew Scoot again recently and I'm pleased with their service. The service crew is friendly and non intrusive. They don't chide you for bringing your own food. A captain of one flight I was on wished teachers Happy Teachers' Day and joked his landing skills are comparable to those of SQ's. 😆

There's free drinking water dispenser on board so you can fill up your bottles.

I'm already planning my next Scoot destination! 😉

Oh, I forgot to add, you may wish to try your luck at checking in early and asking for better seats.

I did that for my recent flight and requested seats for more legroom. I got the yellow seats free of charge though not the bulkhead ones.

I chose to pay for good seats for my GC flight cos it was a long flight and I want to make sure my children are comfortable.

We flew to Sydney via Scoot in July for $850 ( 2 way ) for 2 Adults, 1 5YO and a 14mth mth old kiddo. Seats and space were fantastic and we swear not to travel by Jetstar or tiger anymore.. unless for short trips to BKK or Msia.. The food was edible. Plenty of space for me to carry the toddler around. no restriction on the DIY food as with other budget.. only complaint was that they dont allocate priority check in/seats for parents travelling with kids.

Heading down to Taipei in Sept via scoot again .. cost me $1100 ( 4 adults, 1 5YO, 1 Toddler) isnt that cheap 🙂

Thumbs up for Scoot! Will definitely recommend it over Jetstar.

Which airline don't have bad experience on their FB page?
Go see AirAsia, Jetstar, Tiger, even full-service airline like SilkAir, SIA, KLM, Air France etc all have their fair share of bad experience.

Don't have to be so defensive. Just sharing what others had said. Of course every airlines have their problems. But Scoot seems to be as \"good\" as Tiger in terms of customer service/response.
