The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion

anyone had the experience of sending children to both Learning Point (LP) and TAS before ?

compare LP with TAS (evaluation) -
which one better / stronger in terms of guiding children in Creative Writing ? -
TAS no longer gives written assessment. Previously kids going for trial class will get to do a paper (I peeked a bit only, it’s mostly mcq I think); this is no longer practised. The purpose of the paper as I understood was to gauge the kid’s level and see if he may be suitable for that grade/higher/lower. I have never known them to decline a kid because that kid’s english standard not there - but I have heard them suggest to a parent that this child may be more suited to go for a lower level class.
Trial classes still going on, and it’ll be the teacher who will make the assessment going forward. -
Sure, happy to help in anyway:) Also what I feel is TAS main goal is not just to have a lot of A and A stars that is why they do not turn away weak kids. I think their main aim is to help kids improve whether the kids are weak or good.

Hi TAS parents
Would appreciate a referral for TAS @ AMK. Kindly PM your child’s details to me. Thanks.
Update : Received with thanks. -
anyone can advise Learning Point (LP) and TAS , which one is better in their teaching / creative writing? Do you know do LP and TAS conduct show and tell?
-
anyone know what is the ratio teacher to student for LP and TAS?

My K2 girl is attending both LP and TAS. Currently, no show and tell for both centres. Hope both centres will include it in their P1 programme next year else I might consider signing my girl up for public speaking class.

TAS is having an oral segment in their classes from next year, I got their letter and I think I saw it somewhere here on KSP where they stated that. Not sure if it is show and tell but I think kids will be taught how to talk and present..
