I think it's better not to use friction pen, as answers might rub off or become illegible. I'm getting dd to use just good old fashion ball point pen, as less likelihood of smudging as well.superworried mum:

Oh what is Exam pencil case? Do DC need that? DS did not mention anything at all!! He is still using friction pen though I told him not to.....Afraid he might not get use to other pen or his work might be messy.....
My only worry right now is that dd uses a tremendous amount of correction tape in her daily work. Been trying to \"train\" her to cut down on the correction tape, but bad habits die hard...[/quote]My DS's teacher did not mention about the pencil case issue. Is it really necessary to have a clear pencil case or use a ziplock bag for stationery?
Oh dear, about the friction pen, I actually let my DS use it for Eng and CL composition writings for all his exams so he doesn't have to tape too much and mess up his work. Looks like he has to switch to normal pens for PSLE essay writing. He is also a die-hard fan of correction tapes. Will tell him to learn to cancel unwanted words neatly with ruler now. -

The start of another day is here! Meaning 1 day less to PSLE and my child still making careless mistakes! What should I do?
Smile... stroke her head... tell him/her that you will love her NO MATTER WHAT. He/She needs that from you so that she will go in full of your love and your energy to face one of the most daunting challenges in his/her life so far. He/She WILL be careless. Just face it and love him/her anyway.
And then... after hugging and all that, tip her chin up towards you and say gently \"I know it is difficult but be very very careful of careless mistakes.\" It's too late to fix anything now. Send him/her in but give her courage and inside the exam hall, he/she will think of your smiling face and warm embrace... and he/she will do her best. -

I would also like to hear from all mummies if there is any advice to reduce careless mistake. My DS will always use the excuse, either see wrongly or write wrongly! -

I will screen through my DS's paper, sum up the total marks lost through carelessness, convert the 'careless marks' in terms of percentage and show it to my DS. His face will turn crimson red when he sees it for himself. :oops:cccleo:

The trick is to let DC feel the pinch, not us. -
Just a casual question
How many pens, pencils ,rulers, calculators … Are your DC bringing? -

Same, at least 2 of everything (including calculators). Sounds kiasu, but rather be safe than be sorry... -

dd's teacher say cannot have mesh/pattern/pictures. Must be totally clear. I got hers from Daiso. -
My DS just uses a zip lock plastic bag. Anyway, need to use only once for the few days…
