yelling by teacher everyday in school

I'm trying very hard now to talk to my son to behaviour in class n concentrate in his study. I think even we adult can't take yelling from others everyday don u think so?? It's not right for us to throw our fastration to others not even a child.I think you can consider to take some time to go down to the school and see the situation for yourself, and speak to the teacher personally. As jedamum puts it, the teacher has to handle big classes (if it's 3 classes it's already 120 students) she might have inadvertently lost her temper at your kid. I think the direct approach works best, and sometimes it's not too good to listen to your child's interpretation of it (not saying that your child would lie on purpose to you, but sometimes they don't understand the underlying intentions of adults).
Try to talk to the other teachers as well and see if your kid responds to them differently etc. jedamum is right on her next point as well - gear your kid towards focusing on studies and try to teach him to handle the situation. As much as we'd like to, we can't protect them forever (and there are such things as 'bad' teachers around). We can't protect them, but we can teach them how to handle situations in a proper manner, as they might face such problems later.
Hope this helps...

Hi. how yr problem now? If this happen to my child, I will put a recorder in her bag and record what did the teacher say.
If talking to the teacher and principal still no cure. Write a offical email to the school, CC: TO MOE and the FORUM.
I try this before, it work faster than you talk to them.
I will protect my child no matter waht it takes, they may be afraid of media bcos one parent complaint may seem too little to them. -

Thanks for the advise Shurley. Its a good method indeed. At the moment, I told my son to keep a very low profile(just like Dump) in class. After work, I will teach him for subject he doesn't understand. I have ever thinking going to my MP n MOE. Now is for me to collect more evident b4 I make my strike.Cause if I make the final move, I have to ensure my boy change class or school. For this teacher, she will never change her character. For your case, what is the outcome? Did your child manage to change class or school? Please take note that if we ever make note to the principle b4, all this teacher will just leave our child at a corner n they make sure your child learn nothing from them. This happen to my boy now, as he have approch this teacher for a question in math n she just reply--follow the book. My boy came back n ask me what book to follow n I read through the text book then explain to him.Do check with your kids carefully.Hi. how yr problem now? Hi, Francis. Maybe I was too fierce and demanding.
So far, nothing happen to my girl at school. During Pri 1. I complaint to the principal about the form teacher’s teaching style and she indeed change. And just 2 month ago, I email to the principal regards about her head prefect teacher refused to call me when I ask my girl to pass her the messages tt I need to speak to her. Then she called me immediately after that. When we made a complaint, must must be very firm and stern .
Frankly speaking, if I am in your shoes and of course, we must be 100% sure we are right, I will made this matter big like talking to the press, ask them to interview the teacher and made sure she is the one to leave and not my child. Good luck. -
Hi, i am new to this forum and as i was reading this subject, i would also like to share my experience.
My child is also in a similar situation now in K1 childcare. Her form teacher came on board a year ago and my kid had been telling us he had been yelled at by the teacher almost everyday. We heard it ourselves when we fetch him back in the evening and it is really loud and she did it right in front of all his classmates.
He shared with us that this teacher is very fierce and shouted louder than a lion. We told him not to talk about a tecaher this way but he said he is very scared and that he is very confused and don’t know what he had done wrong as he was punished for almost everything. The punishment was either to stand outisde the classroom or sleep outside along a corridor during nap time.
We were very concerned as parents and tried to talk to the teacher but all she mention is he is very naughty but could not give us specific examples.
She mentioned she had asked his fellow classmates to watch him and report to her if he misbehave but that is creating a problem as his classmates are all picking on him. Unfortunately, numerous talks with her had failed to make any difference.
We also tried on our end to talk to our kid and he is very stressed up that he is having nightmares quite often plus getting very upset. he keep saying that it is not fair why he was punished when he did not do it and why his classmates who did it got away…
As next year will be his K2, we are now in a dilema as to whether we should change his school or try to change class only…
Any advice would be much appreciated. -
Poor boy. The best way is to ask his classmates what really happen. You can ask their parents to ask them at home and feedback to you because they might not know you well.
I was just wonder why u still stay at this childcare ? If possibe can keep a recorder in his bag and record. -
If it were my child, I would have withdrawn him immediately from the school. The child is not learning anything from that kind of fearful enviroment - being picked on by teacher and peers. Even if my child is wrong, there’s no need for the teacher to shout at the child if there is no danger involved. the teacher should learn to control herself and discipline in a firm but controlled manner instead.

At the time you heard it, did you go up to the teacher to ask why he was
being reprimanded? Or did the teacher share with you straight away wat
your child has done to receive such treatment?galaxy:
Me too. I try not to believe right away when my child says something abtHe shared with us that this teacher is very fierce and shouted louder than a lion. their teachers or friends in class. I will find out more first and try to seem
mildly interested. Cos for my DD2 she does tend to over-exaggerate the
stuff she tells us, especially if she does not want to go to school last time.
During that time she was like 4yrs and had terrible separation anxiety.
She tried to find excuses not to go to school.
Her teachers made effort
to communicate with us over the children's communication book when i'm
not fetching and we'll catch up when we do meet over dismissal when the
teacher is off duty. While it was pure anxiety that was the main reason for
her constant stories.. DD1's problem with her teachers were real! Only for
DD1, she's not the complaining kind. Just quiet and a little too timid. When
she is sad or being maligned for something she didn't do, one can only
see silent tears rolling down her cheeks and she would keep to herself
in her room. Likewise for when she was being teased by her teachers
for being such a baby. (The teacher associated her reclusive self and
the silent tears as being a baby). They had the gall to tell me that they
were all just kidding. When the last straw came, (seen with my own eyes
and also feedback from other children & teachers) i withdrew DD1 with
immediate termination notice but kept DD2 there as she was improving
a lot. Just my sharings...galaxy:

it just plain mischief in her eyes or something that may cause any
endangerment to the other children in class. If my child is not the sort to
misbehave at home or in public, it would seem greatly strange that my
child wud behave so in class and i wouldn't mind to stay in a corner (out
of sight) and peek for myself or mebbe even get the teacher to video my
child in action. I mean, if the teacher really feels sooo strongly about my
child's rough orientation... and if truly my child was at fault, i would deal
with my child at home (talk about it and find out why) & also try to reach
a compromise with the teacher a form of punishment or advice i would be
comfortable with.. Monitor religiously and observe any positive change
from then on.

what's going on. You need to have a heart to heart talk with this teacher,

story. Please see to it that you investigate this matter in depth asap to
avoid further unhappiness from both your ends. Just my opinion...
