How much time you spent with your child
-
All my time is with the children, unless I'm facing the stove or wash basin or in the toilet or surfing the net or private time with DH...... (children forbidden) or when they are in school. Small one sometimes still with me while I'm in toilet bathing or doing small or big business (she cannot be alone).

My own private time : in slumberland -
mummy so kiasu:
Yes, mummy so kiasu, we try to spend as much time we have with our dd as possible. We foresee she might have busier school schedule next year when she enters her secondary school life. We want to instil in her that no matter how busy one is - we must make time for each other and for our family. We encourage lots of communication and DH and I try to cultivate some common interests with her.
Wow.. Quality family time. Your dd must be very close to you & your hubby. I am a stay at home mum. I spend a lot of time coaching my P1 girl on her homework & spelling, as well as my P6 boy on his homework. My home is not so peaceful, my two kids often play & quarrel with each other. We will spend quality time together as a family over the weekends, such as visiting the parks, eating out & shopping. No matter how busy we are, we should still try to spend some quality time with our kids. Bonding or family time is very important to every family.fightingmom:
DH and I spend most of our free time with our dd.
Fridays are our \"ladies nite\" ... That is , I have my dd to myself where we usually go for shopping followed by ice-cream or cakes treat.
Saturdays evenings usually are movies nite for the 3 of us or sometimes, if dd prefers to spend the weekend with her maternal grandparents , then will be our couple time.
Sundays are exercise day or family day where we either go beach, Go books hunting in bookshops, visit my parents or spend time with my siblings and their families.
Have been like this many years except this year - we did a bit of adjustment due to PSLE prep.

As a mum with 4 kids, it’s a constant daily question of who gets most of my attention. I use attention rather than amounts of time. I think kids like our UNDIVIDED attention when we totally listen to them & be fully present to them. On good days, when Im fully attentive to my kids, the activity cd b learning or conversations or playing a game, they can feel a deep emotional connection with me and I with them. Those moments r precious but easy because my mind is often preoccupied either with something that happened in the past or about something in future. Staying in the present moment is certainly a daily challenge for me and hence being mentally & emotionally present to my kids when I’m physically present with them is something I aim for.
The other intention I desire is to have one on one time with each kid. They really like that mummy or daddy or both just take them out and give them exclusive attention. -
beanbear,
Agree with what you said, sometimes we are there with them physically but our mind is off somewhere. Children would very much like our heart to be there too!

In todays’ busy world, it’s difficult to devote much time to kids. But I and my husband try to spend quality time with our children. Even if we spend just a couple of hours each day, we ensure our children and we enjoy every minute of it.

all my evenings are spent with them…
we chat over dinner, and they take turns to tell me things that happen in school… m dh used to work till 10plus but i made it a point to ask him to come back for dinner for family bonding before he can go off and come back whatever time he wants…
fri nights will be spent watching a show, a documentary, or a movie together. sometimes we go shopping together as that is the only night of the week that i allow them to slp later at 11.30pm…
our weekends are for them as well… no matter what activities they have, we make it a point to keep sun free, and that’s our family day… they get attn from us all day long… -
Both my wife and myself would try to do our work at the dining table from 8 - 9.30 pm daily. The elder one who is in P5 naturally has tons of homework and the younger one K2, simply does his drawings or writings etc.
Fridays are reserved for dinner outside follow by PS3 or Wii games amongst the boys. I particularly enjoy those moments when we squeezed ourselves in our bedroom with lights out, sharing of ghost stories or jokes in the dark.
Saturdays and Sundays evenings are mainly for dinners at either in-laws place and also for them to interact with their cousins etc. -
i duno abt me…i tink i might nt have spent enuff time with them. 2 DD. both need attention. esp the elder one.
i do admit i play FB games when home. so I got to really cut down on it and spend time with them. should I set a 30min thing with them and then i get to do my own stuff?
reason being is that kids at this age yet to know about limits. if i give them all my time, they will keep on bugging me even when i m actually working from home. but I am also afraid that 30mins might nt be enuff and they might nt find it enuff. maybe i should moderate everything. -
I don have much time with both my DS, I only have sunday and saturday for them, and sometimes i have to leave sg for biz trips. I feel so bad towards them. So am considering to quit my job to spend more time with them and DH.

My brother hardly has any time for my nephew and niece too. We (my mum and myself) tried to be there for them as much as possible but I believe nothing beats the love and attention from your parents.
Probably you can try discussing with your boss if quitting is not the best option. *All the best*
