I’m counting down on dh 40th birthday too. 22 days away to be exact. I have seen it. He’s primping in front of the mirror longer now. Very obsessed with his hair. Morning day night, he keeps on harping on how it is difficult to get a good barber, how his hair yadayadayada. At the same time, he becomes obsessed in buying another new guitar and then upgrading the entertainment room. He spend hours on the pc too. Sigh… Well, I’m thankful that there’s no sign of itch.
As long as we approach every stage of our life by... Maintaining a positive outlook... Taking things one step at a time... Embracing and accepting the challenges (be it mental/physical) at comes at the different stages... Finding alternatives/solutions to the challenges... Not be unduely stressed by it... Having the faith and belief that things will work out. We will find that we are able to overcome these challenges

Hmmm am I making sense? Am going through a rough patch now and not having enough rest... But life must still go on
Hey Zack, you definitely make sense. I seek solace in the embrace of faith when things get rough. Positive thinking, positive attitude, little steps at a time. Well said, bro. Take care & I hope whatever unfinished business will be resolved soon.

Pardon my ignorance but does MLC crisis occur because of financial security or advancing age? If that is the case, then maybe exercise or savings may help to cushion it. Sorry I m not very sure of this but hope someone can tell me. My hubby is also over 40 but he don’t seems to have this MLC.

Many men approaching or in their 40s ( LIKE ME !!) are suddenly shocked that time has flown and we are no longer just a bit older than the fit NS men with muscles and lightning-fast response.

Then we meet with friends who are also in their 40s with their big sounding job titles, beautiful wife/girlfriend/mistress and their shiny Porsche 911... and wonder what went wrong for us.

So some of us launch into training for marathons, triathlons etc. Others start look to changing to their dream car. Others try to re-capture their youth and re-grow lost hair.

But after a while we will accept our new phase in life and middle-aged-ness. I enjoy talking to my wife during our evening walks, discussing the news with my son, telling my little girl to call me after tuition. Humdrum but necessary events of everyday life.

Once in a while a hawker centre auntie will call me \"Ah Tee\" and I will have to be happy with that. 😉

Why 40 is mid-life? If I live till 120, mid life is another 10+ years ma... After I turned 40, I felt much better and can cope with stuff much better... I love to be 40+! (and still look 20+) - ha ha! Like real! 😛

my husband had his pre-pre-mid-life crisis way before 40. :!:
suddenly, his wardrobe is full of loud prints T-shirt (he used to don only mono-colour T-shirts) and he starts shopping for me (trying to shave off years off my true age maybe? )
