I keep wanting to write to the Principal but didn’t have the time to do so. I don’t agree with selling of carbonated/sweetened drinks at school. Kids like these stuff and they will buy as long as they have money. My boy have been buying these drinks on a daily basis no matter how I told him not to. Diabetes affect the young too.

Namie, yes I keep thinking could be ds was blur, so I wanted to find out here if ds was the only one. Now we no longer give him a $2 note, just coins. I also ask him to stay away from that stall. I also agree with the other mommies here that things at this school is really ex, like $1 for 2 nuggets. My staff canteen is cheaper.

If what have been said here are true, the canteen operator must be taken to task. Please let the school know. We have not received any complaint from DS regarding given wrong change. Maybe he bought from different stalls. Nevertheless, people who take advantage of children should be taken to task.

                  Hi Parents,

Can any parents shed light on the format for 口语活动 课文朗读? My son is in P1 and there is this test next week. The teacher gave out a note to study chapters 6-15 of the chinese textbook but there was no other instruction.
Are the boys supposed to memorise the passages? Or are they given the texts to read? Will the hanyupinyin be available too?
Without knowing the format, I am clueless on how to prepare DS for the test. Appreciate any advice please. Thanks.

There is no need to memorize for 课文朗读 as the teacher will ask the students to do a lucky draw and pick one story to read. They must know how to read the text fluently and loudly. You can ask your boy to practise reading all the stories in front of you. As long as he knows how to read the words, he should be fine. I must check with DS later if the hanyu pinyin is included as well. Best is not to depend on the HYPY as that would impede his fluency.

I got DS to practise one story each day and would correct his intonation for certain portions so as to improve his fluency. I would check his enunciation for words which tend to get swallowed when said too fast. I also reminded him to be as loud as possible.
