              Thanks for the information, phtthp!

Anyway, just to point out something to the other parents.

              \"Maths 43 % - below National Standard by 0.5 %\"

I wouldn't think too much about the standard being 0.5% below National Average. In 2010, Mee Toh's quality passes (A* - A) for Math was 39.2%. If a school is able to jump 3.8% in just a year, 0.5% is pretty much negligible.

Besides, looking at the other Punggol schools, they have the largest cohort size. This means that they're more affected by the middle band of pupils than small to medium sized schools.

                An anxious mummy

                Hi all parents,

May I know if i am living near punggol mrt which is more than one clique from Meetoh, is it possible for my child to get in? Any ways to let my kids getting in? And may I know Meetoh and edgefield, which one is better?

Beside my house, there’s a new school Punggol view which started to open this year. My mum keep telling me to let my kids study there but it’s a new school and I’m afraid that my kids will become white rabbit!!

                What should I do?

                Which one should I choose?

                  Hi anxious mummy

If your add fall outside 1km, tough to get in mee toh cos ballot alr within 1km. Punggol view is relatively new so teacher will be much more enthu… I believe it will be a better choice. Your child registering this year?

To add on... if u really keen in mee toh, go for phase 2B and but not guaranteed. Check out various channel such as clan, pv or grassroot when the child is 4yrs old.

Hi, I am considering between Punggol View and Changkat (Simei) for my daughter P1 in 2014. Appreciate your opinions.

                      Punggol View
                      - brand new school - not sure how the sch is in term of establishment, culture etc
                      - convenience as it near to my place, I can send her in the morning
                      - problem is who to fetch her
                      - new building and up-to-date facilities

                      Changkat (Simei)
                      - my former school
                      - near my parents’ place
                      - slightly inconvenience > I have to drive & send her to school every morning, not sure how it impact if I was to chg my job
                      - more established

                        hi blitze

u can check on the open house somewhere from june to july, cos aug will start to P1 reg for phase 2 onwards (if i remember). my colleague’s girls are in Changkat (Simei). Seems not a bad sch. but like you, i stay in punggol. but i chose Horizon due to below reasons (my girl in P2 now):

                        1) i did not do any PV (parent volunteer) even i stay opp of Meetoh. I don want to stress myself for the ballating.
                        2) Horizon has student care center (SCC) inside the school. this is more safer than to choose SCC from outside.
                        3) i prefer new sch, new premises. teachers are more focus on the limited students they have. this yr Horizon has more than 1k students.
                        4) Principal is from Eunos Pri Sch.

but it is really up to you to decide. there is another topic on Horizon Pri in this forum. maybe u like to search more before u decide.

New sch is not a bad idea. U may want to find out more if Punggol View is going to start SCC next yr since this yr is their 1st yr in operation. Horizon started off with no SCC too.

i guess your only concern is after sch dismissal, like me. I choose Horizon becos when i reg my girl for P1 in 2011, this sch is nearer (don’t really like Edgefield & they are pretty far from my home). Greendale started last year but they only announced late Nov in 2011 when P1 reg is over. And my SIL stressed to me, Greendale is not that good. I think Meetoh also started SCC this yr cos i saw the SCC tee-shirt ytd.
