Hi everyone, I would like to bring my family (2 old folks, 2 kids - 7 & 8 years old) to vist Taipei in Dec and would love to find out how to maximise a 5D4N trip. It's my first time heading to Taiwan. Most of the travel package required to stay and change hotel every day. Although we would like to cover as many interesting places, doesn't like the idea of the touch n go feeling.

I have intention to stay 2 nights ideally at Flying Cow Ranch and 2 nights at Taipei, hopefully able to cover Leo Foo Village.... I believe Jiufen is close to Taipei as well...

Would appreciate if anyone can share with me your itinerary.

      Many thanks!
hi hi, we would be intested to do a flying cow, if we go Taiwan again.
We cover Leofoo and Taipei some nearby tourists spots.

Touch and Go does not appeal to us, too tiring...

          Hello Dinah,

Thank you for the alert back in Jul12. I cancelled my plans to travel after hearing about the landslide etc. Gave myself a few months to save more money.
So now we are planning another trip in Nov and would like to seek advices from mummies and daddies in this forum.

I would like to seek some advice on travelling to Taiwan.
This is will be our first family trip out and on a tight budget.
We would like to bring our son to Leofoo Resort and Qingjing Farm after reading up on the very valuable post by parents here.

Can somebody advise me how to go from Taiwan airport to Leofoo Resort direct and then from Leofoo Resort to Qingjing Farm? I don’t need to stay in Taipei as we are on a tight budget. Just these 2 places for our son to enjoy.
          Thank you for contributions.

Are you getting a driver or via public trpt? Just to share on my trip planning, from airport to leofoo around TWD1800, journey around 1h15min. As from leofoo to cinjing, it's really far, journey around 4hr+ and i was quoted TWD6000! With a total of 7 person and 1st time there, no choice to engage a driver to send us to the minsu that was booked!

You may like to conside yehliu ocean park, from leofoo to this park, ard 1hr+ only.

Still having headache over driver-guides and rates.
Does anyone here have any recommendation?
Would sincerely appreciate any help I can get πŸ™‚

Can take the bullet train to Taichung. Very fast and not too expensive. It is about one and half hours. There are lots to see at Taichung so can consider staying one night.

If you are going SML from there there are plenty of buses. Just to to the main bus terminal at Taichung and there are buses to all main destinations. If you are planning to see many places in a day it is advisable to hire a taxi or else just take the public transport.

To all who are planning to go Taiwan, remember to go down to Taiwan Tourist Board at Orchard to claim your free gift. Sometimes they give out free train passes or park entrance tixs. Just need to show proof of travel will do.

Last but not least Taiwan is safe and good to travel. Best to go free and easy. Have a good trip πŸ•Ί

Hi! Can anyone recommend a good minsu to stay in Yilan and a convenient place to stay in Taipei, preferably near to railway station? Thanks!

heehee...Can you recognise this Minsu in Yilan? It is rather popular in Taiwan Idol Show. The website is kot.hotweb.com.tw and booking telephone number +886 911 020 007 There are many Minsu in Yilan. Some are really nice. The only issue is budget.

For Taipei, if it is your 1st time, then I think you can stay at Ximending area or Taipei Main Station. This is where we will be staying ..... http://www.cityinn.com.tw/ But it is probably too late to book for Dec Trip.
You can use http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and see the reviews of different hotels in order to decide where to stay.

We are going to Taiwan for 16 days :moneyflies: in end Nov. F&E. :boogie:

                      Hi,

Anyone get the free gifts from Taiwan association Singapore for this month or next month? What are the goodies? What do we need to bring to claim the goodies?

                      Thanks.

                        Drama Mama,

                        Hi! Thanks.

I do want to hire a driver, or two.. so that it is easier to cover more areas. Just that I cannot decide on whom to hire (I have got a few quotations. But they are not the highly popular drivers - who are already booked by now -so I am feeling uncertain about committing.. :scratchhead: )
