Chanced upon your post enquiring Soy Milk maker, i bought mine @ Best (Bishan) 2 yrs ago @$69.90; very good machine ... besides soy milk you can also make rice paste with it. not sure if they still carry this brand, anyway, here's the pic http://i52.tinypic.com/67s7wj.jpg\">

I think it depends on what function u want. A simple one (make soya milk only) or more functions (like porridge or fruit juice).

If you are referring to Joyoung Soya maker, the latest model at Isaetan is SGD248/-. I bought a different model from China under the brand of Supor, works just as good.

I know you can't compare the pricing, but if you buy the same model (Joyoung) in China, it only costs around SGD160-170 (the most).

Function of both models are similar and you can even cook congee and prepare cold fruit blends.

the first time I used it for soya milk, there was a raw taste. However, noting of an \"extra concentrate\" button, the raw taste disappear.

Other than soya milk and congee, I have also used it for red bean soup, which readied in 20 plus minutes, although the red beans (or what's left of it) is a little chewy.

Mathsparks, if it's not too much trouble, I'd like to find out how long does the process of grinding and boiling take. Just wondering if I'd need to wake up earlier to prepare it. Thanks in advance!

The whole process takes around 20 minutes. However, I will advice you to leave the soya cool down first before you filter off the okara (soya residue), that is if you want the okara which is known to be very nutricient as well. I have been keeping some but not know what to do with them, they are pretty tasteless.

Thks! I googled and realized that besides grinding, the soy milk maker also cook at the same time! One site put it this way: a soy milk maker is a combi of blender and coffee maker! Found this link especially useful, just to share with potential buyers:
