A full list of all the legitimate CCAs is given here:

Hi Autolycus, thanks.
I have another query. I am reading through the ACSI thread, some have mentioned that you should choose the school only if your values in-tune with the school values.
DS comes from non-feeder, neighborhood school, a free-thinker and is pretty adaptable (or so I believe). Though hubby and I believe that the school values should be good (as should all schools be), but guess I am a little concerned or rather want to be more informed. Would you care to give your opinion of what is the value system of ACSI (besides those stated on the website) and what would make a child blend in/suitable for ACSI?
I believe if DS is happy in his environment, academically he should be able to cope.....hence my first concern is his mental well-being.
Thank you. -
ACS(I) is a Methodist institution. Historically, Methodist institutions work with existing social conditions and place education first — Oldham and his successors stated their priority as the preparation of students for life beyond school.
Generally, ACS(I) and its affiliated/related schools go out of their way to offer a broad range of developmental options. In my involvement over almost 40 years with such institutions, and a later career as an educational researcher, I have come to realise that such breadth is uncommon within the local school system — most schools, even many premier schools, cannot adapt to such freedom of choice.
However, ACS(I) while remaining socially conservative has got a down-side as well; there has been in the past years a slightly increasing percentage of materialist or over-competitive students. I still think that this is not a serious problem, and ACS(I) is in general a good school. -
autolycus:
The Math and Science Competition Teams are both legitimate CCAs that can be taken as a second CCA and will fulfill the 'second CCA' requirement.
I understand that a student has to join a uniformed group plus a sport or club. Can he join any 2 CCA, such as a sport and the MCT? -
Oodles Mummy:
The default is one UG and another CCA. Exceptions are normally only made where one CCA is a sport in which the student is performing at a high level (national, regional, international). Mostly in such cases, the sport becomes the dominant CCA and the UG becomes the recessive or vestigial CCA.autolycus:

How is the express stream exam questions’ level of difficulty compared with other sec schools? The report card shows L1R5 score and I wonder if this is a good gauge of students’ performance in O levels.

It's quite a fair gauge. The variance in ACS(I) questions tends to be wider than in most other schools, but I don't think they're easier on average. Which level are you talking about, or is this a general observation? -

Most Top Schools & 'Better ones' have higher level of difficulty than 'Other sec schools'. If this has reference to End of yest result for sec3 , it will be improved slightly at O-level for this school
Unlike PSLE T score , O-level result should be predictable based on SEC3 result. -

Sorry, have to disagree there. The O-level result is actually harder to predict based on Sec3 results for most people. There are some reasons for this, of which the most important factors are: 1) more subjects and subject combinations, 2) students have more autonomy. These create greater random variation.
