Maybe 1/3 to 1/2 may offer GEP program. Those GEP students posted out meaning there are vacancies for students from other primary school to transfer into Radin Mas. :rahrah:

Yes and No. Some selected may still continue to stay becos they dont want to move to another school and miss their old friends.

Yes agreed with you that the kids joining the GEP program have to face the following:

(1) New school environment
(2) New classmates
(3) Missed the old school classmates
(4) Stressful environment, daunting route of GEP.
Last year, not all classes had \"rep\" to take the 2nd round GEP. Mainly from 3M, not sure wht this year, 30 is from 1 particular class or not. 4 (or 5) from the whole school qualified for GEP and they had left RMPS. If I recalled correctly, 1 went Henry Park & 3 went ACS. All from 3M.
It was a good experience to just take the 2nd round test. My boy enjoyed it cos it was like an outing to him. After the morning test, the RMPS kids will gather together and chat or discuss wat their answers were. He also get to \"see\" different school students around. He told me, RMPS only take up a small % in the exam center.
My boy still keep in contact with 1 of the boy who left for Henry Park. He told my boy the GEP was not that difficult. And I noe my boy miss this friend of his, he was his best friend for 2 years...

I heard most of them come from 3M and only 1 fr 3N but I could be wrong.

Woah..that means his friend is truly gifted and has good time management. I read in the other forum that it involves a lots of project work that is outside the cirriculum and it actually cultivate a different skills set. If he enjoys, he will definitely flourish under this program.

Continue to let them keep contact..who knows their path might cross again when they grow older ...

hmm just finished p1 admin reg at RMPS. But I'm so blur. I forget to ask when/where to get school uniform and what the kid needs to bring for day 1. Anyone knows? Pls share. Thanks.

Last yr the date to buy text books and uniform is on 21st and 22nd Nov, should be something similar this yr....school sent us a letter on the booklist and date time on that when the date is nearer anyway.

1st 3 days are orientation days, no need to bring any book.
maybe water bottle and pencil case are good enough, their practice is read story book while in hall so can tag along a small and light story book also? πŸ˜‰

That is what happen last yr, hopefully not too much diff this yr. πŸ˜“

Haha! So coincidental. I'll see u during e orientation week then. keep in touch! πŸ˜ƒ

Anyway, i'm quite upset that they changed the publisher for the maths textbook and workbooks, and that there is a revised edition for chinese... Thought my gal could use her elder siblings' books...end up can only reuse the art and music book. Sigh.

What did they change the Maths books to? Wonder whether it applies to the higher levels, too? http://i827.photobucket.com/albums/zz200/pepper2010_bucket/ththbnbnb.gif\">

As for Chinese, it was in the news some time back that there would be a revision.

When I hunting for the Maths textbook late last year, the staff at Popular bookstore commented...nowadays not many schools use this publisher anymore. Perhaps the current one is no longer meets the school curriculum and hence needs to change. My guess..but good to know the actual reasons

Yup, they are changing to my pals are here. They also changed the name tags to those iron on ones for p1s next year, but p2s and above will still use the old name tags.
