you all have no idea manh!

Even at 8 months pregnant, he kept me working on some reports till almost 9pm…
Before I left the office, I went to him and said " Actually I am not hungry but she is " pointing to my swollen belly.

My ex-boss was very pro-family. He has 3 children and always encouraged me to have three as well. And then he would mumble and grumble about \"but probably not a very smart thing for a boss to say to his staff!\". When I was pregnant, he had a talk with me. He told me, don't take MC if I am not really sick - e.g. if I cannot make it to the office in time, just let him know and let others know. But better come in late or come in 1/2 day than take MC and not come in at all. Sometimes he sees my face at 4pm, low batt, he just tell me... no point - go home, lah! 😂 On the good days we worked till 9pm and then I told him, \"We are hungry... let's go eat dinner together?\"

The first thing he said to me when he visited me at the hospital was \"Wife said now you are someone's mother... so I cannot take up so much of your time! Otherwise you will leave me. Did you consipire with wife?\" 🤷 Three months later when I went back to work, the first thing he said to me was a lecture on breastfeeding  and how I can/should continue to express milk and all his wonderful idea how I can do it.

Gotta love this guy, right? Unfortunately, he left the organisation.... 🤷

My immediate boss and most colleagues were very kind throughout my two pregnancies. On average, I report late for 1-1.5hours and immediate boss just help me endorsed when computer dept issued late scan in reports weekly. I reciprocate by giving back the hours via shorter lunches and over time. Colleagues no complaints as it is better that I late and still do my share than I quit and they need to take over my load 😓

So when my fellow colleague got pregnant,I extended my help willingly as I had received the same kind of support from others. But this is not workplace family friendly.it only appliesto our team as different managers handle their team differently. I was so lucky!

I have a love-hate relationship with my boss. He had given me a lot of opportunities at work. But he sure made me work hard! Today I no longer report to him but we still share a bond. He always never fail to remind me \"why did you leave me?\".........ya why....BECAUSE YOU MADE ME WORK LIKE A COW\" :rotflmao:

Actually I used to manage a team of 7 people in my current local office. At any time, only 2 persons can be out of office. I always get a heart attack when I get a SMS in the morning. It usually means someone need to take urgent leave or will be on 2 days MC. I also had to give priority to my team taking off days before I would plan mine.

Imagine once I heard Colleague A said she would have 40 days leave next yr. She meant \"20 days leave + MC 14 days + 6 days Child Leave\" to me. Really got such people okie :yikes:

As a woman, a mother and then their manager, I would not do to them what my boss did to me. To some people, a job is a job and just a job. I can understand and accept that. But for me, it is a career.

It is definitely not a glam glam job to manage people. After more than 10 yrs, I requested a transfer to another department. Today i report only to HQ and has no more reporting staff. I must say I am much happier.

Yes definitely. From what I see, it is always from some individuals. My ex-boss was one such person. He is married but no kid. So there are gaps of understandings when it comes to childcare etc. He was clueless but he always show understanding (even when he acTually didnt understand. Eg he didn't know that hfmd can mean 2 weeks mc and therefore, a working mom may have to take two weeks off work). But he always gave me and our team all the privileges he could extend wihtin his authority.

Because of how he had led by example, I followed his way of doing things. I have to say I am \"not that kind\" as compared to him. Me Being a new manager, he would always tell me to love my subordinates as if they are my siblings. He said he could sit in his place and be freed to do strategy work because he had me manning the operations. So he must treat me well and in turn, I should treat my team well because they \"cheong sua cheong hai\" with me. So I should also treat them well.

                    Ah..... Great wisdom and kindness.

No he is not the big boss. He is ABC expat.

He was a boss I could scream at for 10 min and then slam his door as I walked out. He did the same many times to me. Next day we always pretended like nothing had happened.

When we argued, the accounts department next door (the ladies) told me they could feel their walls tremble! 😉

How can every yr growth be 25% in dollars? Want my team to die working for the company huh? Why our pay only 5% increment this year? Why did you cut my budget again? Why are we organising the Asia meeting again? Ask China team to do it! etc......a lot of \"important\" issues to negotiate and see who gives in first

I also helped him with his BGR problems HAHA.

Caution : Do not try it on your boss! :rotflmao:

                        yes, horrible, isn't it

Really wonder which doctor they go to. Is it they buy a season pass or MC booklet beforehand.... 😆
