Two years went by fast…


So apparently now I have no chance of a conditional promotion because of some stupid mistake I made earlier in the year that caused my Chinese to be C6 and I ended up with a demerit point. I have 8 entries in the management diary and 3 late offences too.

All my other subjects are A1 except history and my GPA is 3.4, I help the school out as photo/videographer and I did win awards for my CCA. Based on this (since new promotion criteria requires Very Good LCD), is there any chance for any form of promotion (conditional or otherwise) assuming my LCD grade is Good?

I don't know how and don't think the word \"conditional promotion\" in the report book will affect you long term. As long as you pass your O level HCL in sec 4, it is all behind you. I think the teachers have intentionally set the standard very high in the school exam. It has always been the case.

How many students in your batch get full exemption from final year exam this year?

… I think you misinterpreted my question but to answer yours it was around 50 if I remember correctly. I was asking that if I get a C6 for my Chinese, but A1 for everything else, and LCD grade as good, is there still any chance for a promotion since I would have been deemed to fail 2 promotion criteria - LCD grade and Chinese B4. I did win awards for my CCA though and do media coverage for school events.

C6 in HCL is conditional promotion. You may need to show sincerity in mending your discipline.....nobody knows this except the school management. Is a unique case.

I cannot answer your questions since I am not a parent with RV kids. Even parents may not be able to answer those questions. They are questions which authority in the school has definitive answers.

The forum has been quiet with occasional updates from some parents that things are fine. It means that everybody are quietly working very hard and there aren't much major hiccups in the school. The stress level is high but everybody are quietly managing well.
