Anyone going to the school this sat to get the P1 textbooks? Which is easier - order online n get a date to collect the books or just go down directly to the sch n get? :?

When my kids were in P1, I ordered online and just went down to collect books. Found that to be easier than going there and getting it. By ordering online, they keep your books ready for you, so it does finish fast. You will also need to buy uniforms, pay bus fees (if your child is taking bus) and also the canteen coupons (I think) on the same day.


Also experience shows that if you go a bit later in the day, you wont find a big crowd!! But if you are working, this is a moot point.

Last, if you are not driving, carry a trolley with you to bring back the things - will get quite heavy otherwise!

Oh, the sch is still using canteen coupons for the P1 kids? Hmm... if I'm going to let my girl brings her own food, do I still need to buy the coupons?
I'm still thinking if I should let my girl takes the school bus cos from my place to sch shld takes about 20mins to walk.

No, my kids also used to take food to school so I never brought the coupons.


If it takes 20 mins to walk, maybe you should consider bus at least when she is in P1-P2. From my place it takes around 12-15 mins so my kids have been taking bus all these years. Next year I am considering allowing them to come back on their own.

Hi hi, I saw a few postings on the canteen coupons, but while I went to get the books on the day, I never saw any counter selling the coupons lei...hmmm....please advise...thanks! :scared:

Just to check is there anyway to arrange for schoolbus service for areas not catered by existing operators. The last time i check the school bus only go as far as Jurong East. Still staying in Jurong west till 2014.

Hi parents, anyone knows how does beacon separate the students into different classes, ie from P2 to P3? What are the criterias?
