Any idea who is the new incoming principal? I hope she.doesn't take the fun out of Sota. There were new incoming principals in other schools that changed alot of rules and generally no one was happy.
Just read that she's from Cedar Girls...not sure if that is good or bad tho. What do you all think?

With reference to tomorrow’s kayaking session - any idea if the kids will get wet - as in swimming involved or dunked in water?

They will definitely be wet and sun burnt if there's sun. Did you go buy extra big ZipLock bags for keeping the clothes dry? Bring sunblock lotion and wear wet shoes if you have.
Mine will be involved in OSL briefing tmr. Going to Vietnam. -
Vietnam!! Wow…they are really going places! My girl didn’t put on sunblock but all the same she enjoyed the experience.

Yours will be busy too once they are in Y3. I don't know if things will change with the incoming new principal. -
Yeah, the new principal.....
I hope she is nice and approachable and most importantly, not create rules that will take away the creativity spirit of the kids in school. As it is now, their shoes are fantastic. Some draw on their own shoes.

My only grouse now is the admin staff picking up the phone. They almost never do for the first 2 tries!!

Dear All
My DD is thinking of selecting SOTA Dance Faculty instead of her other 2 CO from PRESTIGIOUS main stream school ,
will the Y1 students face difficulties with the changes after 6 yrs in the main stream school and habits ? -

Yes, definitely. They became happier.
They will feel like they are in wonderland, so much so it worries the parents. Y1 parents say something, would like to know how your DC feels going to SOTA. -
Hi to all parents,
URGENT!!!
Now that it is time to confirm DSA to SOTA with only a few days left, we are actually not so sure to accept or not. My girl is given CO for VA but after the tour at SOTA, we realised that the art standard is very high and so are the expectations. My girl just likes to doodle, sketch for fun NOT into the realistic life drawings that we saw in SOTA. She may not be able to produce such high quality work. Because of that, will she be treated harshly
/ despised by the art teacher and fellow classmates? Academic wise, I am not so worried.
I read from this forum that all the students are very happy but if she is at the bottom of her art class, I worry she may actually be sad and despised.
Also, are there many assignments and presentation work? Is it comparable to other secondary schools? She is practising her grade 5 piano. Once she enters SOTA, will she have time for her personal piano practices? I am sorry for so many questions…I really just want my daughter to have a happy school life.
A big thank you!!! -

That's the exact same thing my friend told me about her daughter in Year 1. She said her daughter was so happy in SOTA, and was so busy having fun she got worried that she wasn't studying.
