Hi would just like to gather some feedbacks. If you have a son, which primary school do you prefer, assuming he can get into all schools below and distance to school is pretty similar and why ?

      a) AT
      b) CHS
      c) ACSP
      d) NYP

      Thanks all in advance! 🙂

        CHS
SAP school and affiliation to good secondary school.
Is ACSP also sap and affiliated to ACS?
If yes, comparing both secondary school o level banding, I choose the better performance one which I think is chs.

Secure a place in a so called good school will not guarantee good grades for the child.

Parents have to put in effort as well, I have a friend who spend a few k per month for enrichment classes for the kids. Not only that, she quit her job to spend at least 4 hrs to coach her kids daily.

Those schools which produce top students may not necessarily guarantee they can do so on their own. In most cases, parents have to dedicate a lot of time and maybe $$$ for some extra boost.
All my children are in neighborhood schools, but they are top students. So being in a “branded” school doesn’t matter.

If kids are in non branded school, teachers there could be doing more as compared to those in branded ones. Principal could also be more hands-on and get HODs to compile notes for students, prepare them for PSLE earlier too.

yes, that’s why more top students from neighborhood school too
Top students from \"branded\" schools are mostly GEP kids. Bright kids naturally produce good results. They will produce equally good results if you put them in a neighbourhood school.

NCPS conducted balloting within 1km in phase 2B & 2C.

If you are stayed 1-2km the chances very slim.

The classes will be reduce to 7 classes for PCS, but I'm not sure when, you

may call the school to confirm again.

Not sure will NCPS switch to single session or not.
NCPS upgrading has not been completed. Most probably will switch to single session in 2014.

Parents' involvement is absolutely crucial & necessary for kids now, especially more in branded schools.

It's not possible to adopt a hands-off (or bochap) approach when our little ones enter primary school. Involvement as in knowing what kids are learning in school everyday. Schools carry out tests every 9-10 weeks.

In all phases, Singapore citizens get an absolute priority. But shouldn’t something be done to distinguish a new citizen from a born citizen? At this rate, immigrants will quickly acquire Singapore citizenship and compete for the scarce seats in branded schools. What say?

Great idea..... But sensitive to bring up. There many where people quickly acquire citizenship for various reasons.
