My son has been attending Children's Vineyard Kindergarten since July this year. I transferred him from an expensive franchised child care because I didn't see any progress in the first half of the year in N2 and that was getting me worried. He couldn't recognise many letters and wasn't interested in learning. He was also starting to dislike going to school.

Since attending Children's Vineyard, he has improved tremendously. Within the first 2 weeks of attending the school he learnt most of the alphabet and each of their sounds and as of today he's blending words, reading and spelling. He is also able to concentrate better and he can speak in basic mandarin and sing full mandarin songs. They are a Montessori-based kindergarten.

But what I like most about the school is the dedication of the teachers (led by Judy Yap and her team) and the culture they instill in the children. They really care about the children and the environment of love allows the children to thrive. They teach respect and consideration for each other and the children really get along well.

I would like to recommend the school for anyone in the east who is looking for a good kindergarten. 🙂 It is located at Charis Methodist Church, 91 Koon Seng Road. Do call and speak to Judy about the school. The number is 64408813. She's really lovely and will share her vision for the school. Better still, go down and have a look before the term ends. That's what I did when I was sourcing for a school. I went down and observed the kids and I really liked what I saw.

        Hi all,

I understand that Kids N Kids has moved out of the college (Telok Kurau).
Does anyone know if they are still operational?
If yes, would really appreciate if you could advise where they have moved to and also their contact numbers?

        Thank you in advance!

                        Piggymum:
Dear parents, anyone here live in Telok Kurau or East Coast area nearer to nafa arts kindergarten side?

I understand that there is a childcare centre next to nafa called little fairyland child care. Anyone one has kids in there? would like to know more (both positive & negaive) about the centre. Thanks.

dear Piggymum, little fairyland is a small, intimate childcare that takes care of children as though they were their own children. I know, coz my daugther has been going there for the past 3 years (from N1 to K1). I have seen my child grow steadily and at her own rate over the years and the teachers and Principal at Little Fairyland have played a huge part in this regard. Her mandarin is remarkable (we do not speak mandarin at home); likewise for reading, maths and just a general interest in the academic side of things. The childcare also caters to the social and emotional aspects as well. For example, in N1, my daughter performed her end of year concert with head and eyes down throughout. This year, in K1, she not only led in some of the music and movement items, she did a narration in front of the audience! I couldn't be more proud of her! And I credit the teachers for patiently nurturing this side of her.

So in short, if you are looking for a childcare that takes care of the academic as well as the social and emotional aspects of your children, I would encourage and recommend Little Fairyland Childcare and Development Centre.
