          Piggymum:
Dear parents, anyone here live in Telok Kurau or East Coast area nearer to nafa arts kindergarten side?

I understand that there is a childcare centre next to nafa called little fairyland child care. Anyone one has kids in there? would like to know more (both positive & negaive) about the centre. Thanks.

dear Piggymum, little fairyland is a small, intimate childcare that takes care of children as though they were their own children. I know, coz my daugther has been going there for the past 3 years (from N1 to K1). I have seen my child grow steadily and at her own rate over the years and the teachers and Principal at Little Fairyland have played a huge part in this regard. Her mandarin is remarkable (we do not speak mandarin at home); likewise for reading, maths and just a general interest in the academic side of things. The childcare also caters to the social and emotional aspects as well. For example, in N1, my daughter performed her end of year concert with head and eyes down throughout. This year, in K1, she not only led in some of the music and movement items, she did a narration in front of the audience! I couldn't be more proud of her! And I credit the teachers for patiently nurturing this side of her.

So in short, if you are looking for a childcare that takes care of the academic as well as the social and emotional aspects of your children, I would encourage and recommend Little Fairyland Childcare and Development Centre.

I highly recommend "Children’s Vineyard" at 91 Koon Send Road.

I had switched my son from another church kindy during the last term last year.
Within that 1-term, my boy who used to detest mandarin now even sings chinese songs to me happily.

Further, his diction in mandarin has improved (he does not sound like an ‘ang moh’ speaking mandarin now). Of course, he is not at the level where you can compare the diction with a china chinese kid but definitely improved that even my sister commented he sounds so much better speaking mandarin these days.

Judy Yap and Zhang Jing (lao shi) are the founders of this kindergarten. They used to homeschool a small group of kids (children of their friends, through recommendation) and it grew so big with so much more additional requests to take in their children that they started to source for a venue to start up a kindergarten about 3-years back.

Thus, though the kindergarten is ‘new’ at Charis Methodist Church, they are very experienced and of quality teaching. Judy and Zhang lao shi are very devoted in teaching yet strict and care in teaching the children good morale values and manners too. The teachers they have are good – Judy is very selective of the teachers employed.

Children and parents of this kindergarten come together at festive celebration and it’s like a family. Nothing pretentious and snobbish.

I only wished they had open this kindergarten much earlier.

I must stressed i am NOT in any way related to any teachers, founders of this kindergarten. Purely just a mummy (FTWM at that) that is very happy to have found a quality kindy for my son as i believe good foundation is very important prior primary school.

Hope this helps new parents or parents who just shifted to the east.

Typo error - it is "91 Koon Seng Road" - the address for Children’s Vineyard Kindergarten.
