dimsum:
dimsum,TWP's term fees vary each term - depending on the number of lessons each term. On a per lesson basis, it's $38 for K2 ( i am not sure if it will increase in 2013), duration is 1.5 hour.
I know for K2, it's 6.
for K2 -
LP school fees also same as TWP ; ie. $ 380 per Term (10 lessons).
LP also 1.5 hours duration.
ie. $38 per lesson.
(sama sama)
curious about TWP ...
does K2 @TWP teach kids - grammar, compreh, compo, vocab, and also how to use Dictionary to check meaning of new words come across ?
do TWP compile and sell K2 kids composition written in class, into a book ? -
phtthp:
Popular book shops only sell their compilation written by P1s-P6s.

Hi all,
Just to share my view. Know of a friend’s daughter who was there at TWP from P1 to p6. Her written composition was only ‘so so’. My niece who was rejected by TWP when she seek admission during P3, went on to other enrichment centre. From there on, my niece top her composition every year in school (same school as my friend’s dd) and high distinction in UNSW. The demand at TWP seems high because there are only three teachers teaching P1 to P6. -

which enrichment centre did your P3 niece go to ? -
I was on the wait list for a trial assessment for nearly a year. Both my children have just sat for the assessment at TWP. In my view, the spelling list for the assessment is reasonable for the level. I believe most kids clear the assessment without too much of a fuss.
Initially, I wondered whether TWP was being selective about the calibre of students it takes. However (just my guess) I do not think they discriminate based on the child's language competence or his calibre. They are looking out for learners who can adapt to their style of teaching; keen learners who are able to concentrate for 2 hours and will not disrupt the class. I know of kids who are average in English who are attending TWP.
The fees are steep; steeper than TAS for sure, which is causing us to dither about the registration decision as well. Nevertheless, we have decided to give it a try for one term and will evaluate after that. TWP makes clear its expectations that children are to learn spelling, do corrections and to redrafts of compositions - I am not sure how my kids will take to that but we will see! On the one hand I like the idea of discipline in writing; on the other hand I hope this doesn't stymie their interest in writing. Going in with an open mind.
Happy to hear other TWP experiences

thanks for sharing your views!!
from what i read, they only admit students into P3 at end of P2 (started on website that Waiting lists for N2 to Pri 2 (2013)...only). there is no enrolment for students into P4 at end of P3 (but i see vacancies on their datasheet :? )....if i read correctly. so your niece was denied admission, not fail assessment, right? maybe they dont admit students during middle of the year? can anyone verify? if so, meaning they only do enrolment end of the year, that will explain the long(time) waitlist. -

From what I understand, TWP does not take in students from P3. That might be the reason why your niece's application was rejected? -

You are right on that. There is no enrollment for students into P3 at the end of P2. Their last batch of new students registration are for those going P2 at the end of P1. However, they do accept students, say for example P1/P2 (2012) to join their current P1/P2 existing classes should they pass the assessment test. But, they will not take in current P3 or new enrollment for students going P3 at the end of P2.

I last spoke to them and understand that from 2013, they opened up more classes (both weekdays & weekends). Weekend classes are usually higher in demand esp for FTWP. Vacancies for P4 weekend class? My guess, probably this is one of the extra class they started, or maybe drop out students due to the higher fee? Their fee is indeed on the higher end.
They do take in students during the middle of the year. Mine started with them in Term 2.
