Thanks ftdaddy for your insights…it is great to hear from someone whose child is going through GEP. Can I clarify the following:

      - you mentioned they start preparing for PSLE in May- you mean May of P5 or May of P6?
      - so all GEP kids can get into the school of their choice via DSA? Does prelim results or PSLE results count too?
      - what about higher chinese (HC)? Is that the regular HC syllabus or GEP has another type of chinese? As it is, NYPS higher chinese is not easy, kids have to work hard to do well, what is it like in GEP?
      - I guess your child is quite self-motivated? How to you teach your child to handle failure or doing less well (I am assuming in a GEP class, many kids can consistent do well, so we need to teach our kids to handle situations where they do not do so well)

Thank you so much for your insights…

Just came back from DS school with the yellow envelop. Thought have to wait till next week for result, as round 1 result was made known very late for his school. His FT was kind to call once she got the notice from GEB. 😄

Not sure what u mean. Came back w yellow envelope means Get in GEP.
        :congrats:
So when u mention results..do they actually give u a score?

No result attached. Only letter for GEP registration, notice to attend briefing at NUS High and some brochures.

          i try to answer

          - May of P6, there are many projects they have to do. Social Studies take up some time. For example, they need to give their view on current affairs such as NIMBY (not in my backyard syndrome), massive MRT breakdown, family tree etc.
          - you need to scrore 80% for total aggregate. My DD dream school is rgs
          - HCL should be same as main stream. pl note all GEP pupils take the same exam paper set by MOE GEP branch.
          - In GEP, it is difficult to complete all the assignments. Some questions are really hard. The maths and science paper require more thinking. The English language is at least one level up, if not 2. You can take reference for P4 GEP English comprehension against a P6 main stream english comprehension.

So am I right to say 82% overall in GEP most likely able to get CO via DSA ?

Just called the General Office. DS got selected but I am undecided. There are only 2 schools I have in mind; ACS and NYPS. I am thinking to give up GEP and remain in Rulang if he's not posted to any of the two.

                      :congrats: :imcool:
