      Dear Xenophilia,

If u still wan your helper, u got to sit down n be frank with her about your expectations and how she has not been doing job well.. of coz it risk the fact that she will not want to work anymore.. unless u know v well tat u can do without her areadi.. den juz prepared n do all necessary to get your DD ready for a full day CC.. once she starts.. den on the same day.. send her off without any notice given to her.

To me, I feel it was becoz right from the start, there were not rules lay down for her.. so she started to stray n feel there is no need to really 'wrk' since employer still need me coz of dd.. Therefore, the card now is in your hands..

Tok to her n lay down your expectations n rules for her to follow.. if she straight off tell you she doesn't wan to wrk anymore, no delay, send her off immediately, if possible, have your dd to b at ur mum/MIL plc.. (so you muz b prepared)

Need further options.. feel free n check w us.. :hugs: Dun worry.. u are not alone.. 🙂

Hi, has any of you ordered the robot cleaners from Autovac or Robotvac? Which has better after sales service? Need some advice as I'm not sure which supplier is better. Thanks!

I got my Neato from Robovac, Thomas.

He was very obliging and explanation regarding use and maintenance was clear.

Can't comment on after sales as no problem so far, since jun this yr.

I’m a SAHM & never hire a maid before. I started dd1 in childcare before delivering dd2. When dd2 was 1 year +, I withdrawn dd1 from childcare and I took care of both at home. At that time, I had a part time auntie to help clean the house eg. ironing, washing toilet, vacuum, mop floor etc.

After moving house, we couldn’t find a reliable part time helper so we made do without any.

Hubby needs to help out in chores. He does the ironing (his shirts & pants as well as kids’ uniforms) once a week & washes dishes after dinner.

My dd1 is older now so I let her mop floor. I will do the cooking & laundry & fold the clothes. Folded clothes will be kept by dd2. Kids changed their own bedsheets regularly too, whenever they started to feel the itch (around 3 weeks) then it’s a timely reminder to change their bedsheets.

I prefer to be maidless. Have the freedom to do anything I like at home without a stranger invading my living space. And no need to keep an eye on a maid, I’m busy enough with 2 kids. Of course my house is not sparkling clean. I’m satisfied as long as it is not messy.

The link doesn't say much about this robot like pricing, where to order etc. Is it available here?

              scang:
Hv met someone recently, who bought the Good Robot auto vacuum cleaner, and has no compaints.
It is said to be reliable and has no issue so far for more than 6 months.

I'm also considering this model now, after some checking.

Liberating to be without maid but unfortunately I am not able to resolve my meals problems. I reach home only around 8.30pm earliest, so it is still a problem if I order tingkat food. Rest of housework not a problem.

                Your husband?

Sorry for late reply. Husband hours even longer, get home around 10pm on good days. Got a new maid last week. Unfortunately she cut corners on safety measures resulting in DH having a nasty fall. Sent back to agent in less than 5 days. Maidless again. Undecided if should have a maid. Still think happier to be maidless.

Nowadays, we need to fork out about $600 to get a replacement maid. Used to be free last time but now agency is charging employer so that we do not change maid as we like. End of the day, employer still at loosing hand and agency make more money.

If we should be giving maids weekly off day like in Hong Kong, we should also set the framework like Hong Kong. High expectations, no transfer. Not fair to employers if there is cherry picking of the best benefits within the Hong Kong framework without the corresponding ability to work.

maids nowadays are not as simple as before even the fresh maids. It is like flying kites. Have to really learn how to let go and pull tight at times. As too loose, they will climb on top of you, every weeks will have new tricks ( tried to forget this or that, show black face, delibrately ignore your request - when you have clearly instructed her, turn into deaf ears ) and then will demand this or that.

When too tight, they are very unhappy and quit. Then you have to start sourcing and tolerant again.

When they are experience, they are again dis-satisfied.

So if you have not started off with maid. try your very best to work out with family members, tough but not impossible.

Cause once you started with having a maid in the house, no matter what, you are addicted to it. Can’t seem to do without them. Some people can, I tried many time, maybe i am not determined enough cause in the end, always end up agruing with DH or MIL on the house-work.
