I called the office and they said though they can't issue booklist yet, the bookshop can start selling to the sec1s. When dh was there yesterday, he saw a couple of other sec1 parents there also.

Being kiasu parents, we must live up to our name. Chiong there as soon as is possible. Too bad for uniforms, we've to go to shaw centre if we want to beat the crowd. So, am still thinking.

I saw the size of the report book, my jaw dropped. Also, why's the frame of the goggles red? Boy is anti-red as it's a girl color.
      Hi Mathsperk,

Is it possible for you to list down the names of the books, I am just trying to see if my boy can make use of his sister's books so that I can save a little - ha...ha...

      Thanking you in advance.

          Fairy:

The goggle I bought for my son has a blue frame. Anyway, it's still untouched, in his cupboard. I asked him why he has not used the goggle and his reply was that he kept forgetting to bring everytime there was lab session. Anyway, he wore glasses.

RI is quite lax about security compared to RGS. I brought my daughter there recently. Wanted to start training her to take the public bus. Thought we'll drop in to let her familarise with the environment. We were not allowed to go into the school beyond the General Office, let alone get into the bookshop.
Eh, how come my girl who wears glasses still have to wear safety goggles in the labs?

Security not that lax i think, dh has to stop his car at the entrance, tell the guard where he's going before he's allowed in...not sure if you'able to walk in thru the gates without being stopped.

Hi everyone, really torturing to wait for the sec posting day.Just want to hear fr experience wat is the chances like for dsa admitted already(other sch not RI) to appeal for RI with score 269? :nailbite:

This is above the COP. From last year observation, RI do accept a few who were offered a place at other school thru DSA. My son has a few classmate who appeal and got in. I believe they do not need to take other test. In fact, you can do it before the posting results. You might want to call RI office to check. I understand from my son that they do allow those DSA students to appeal before posting results.

Just wondering, those accepted into DSA, do they also have to submit S1 form ?

There isn't a need to submit S1 form.Just submit your choice of 3rd lang cos the form straight away state congrats for admitting into XXX sch.We appealed at RI straight after 26nov but was told will only get to know outcome after 23dec.So will need to report at dsa sch 1st on 23dec.

                      NO

If they dont submit, how does MOE knows whether the kid got accepted ?

The school must inform MOE ? Bcos before the mass allocation program is run, the vacancies left must be known before the allocation software is run

Last year, they call the DSA appeals before the registration day. I remember we saw a few of my son's primary school classmate last year during registration day. They were not successful for RI DSA but was offered a DSA place in NUSH. Their T-Score is on the upper 26X. They might change their system this year.
