All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

Hi,
Is it true that some schools can never seem to have enough PV while others donβt bother to get PV? Indeed, is it possible for a parent to volunteer some time to schools for a purely altrooistic motive? -
Hi to parents who applied for NYPS PV for 2015 P1 intake
Anyone has receive phone call or email from school that you have been shortlisted for interview? -
For me, I just tell myself do PV will give me one extra chance of balloting even though it does not guarantee a place.

Dear parents that are interested in BPPS,
I just found out this info as below:
Dear Parents,
Bukit Panjang Primary School would like to thank you for your interest in our Parent Volunteer Programme.
With effect from 2013, our school will not be doing any recruitment of Parent Volunteers.
The non-recruitment of Parent Volunteers will affect parents whose children are born from 2 January 2008 onwards.
Thank You. -
HPPS had 160 applications for 2013 PV. We just got the rejection

I recently checked with Catholic High Primary (Bishan) and they said they are no longer accepting parent volunteers. If this is the case, then what are my options in order to get a chance for phase 2B ?

mummy of 3:
What exactly does this mean? If I still want to try for Phase 2B for my child, and the school does not accept PV, what is the implication?Dear parents that are interested in BPPS,
