Anglo-Chinese School (Primary)

son in P4 GEP now, he enjoys his time this year. Transferred from another school. Settled in quite quickly. He does feel that pals wise, he can communicate better with the GEP students than previous classmates.
Work, he is doing normal MT. (Chinese) The GEP MT is more difficult than mainstream MT. Eg, for mainstream, they only need to be able to know how to write those wo hui xie words, but for GEP MT, they need to be able to write quite a fair bit of those wo hui ren characters too. Son struggled quite a fair bit with Chinese actually.
Other than that, English, it is P5 standard English. Exam, non MCQ grammar, compre passages are long. Son struggles with languages a fair bit.
Math and Science, he enjoyed Science especially. Math, struggled a bit initially. But improved by end of P4.
By and large, he enjoyed GEP in ACS
But my personal feedback, I wish more can be done for English grammar though. The boys seem to be left on their own

Your DS has no problems making friends? I am worried DS ( being a transfer student) may hv problems bcos some of the classmates may already have their own cliques. As I am aware 35 places have been taken by ACS students.
I believe my DS will encounter the same issues like your son esp in MT.
Glad to hear that your boy is enjoying his GEP at ACS. Hopefully, my DS can join him to experience ACS :xedfingers:

you are most welcomed. My ds is quite social, so he didn't have problem making new friends. In this sense, I think boys are pretty social. So don't worry about social.
BUT, I must say, you have to give your son time to adapt to new school, teachers, friends, environment. Give yourself at least a semester. -
Hi, we would like to enrol our boy in my husbandโs alma mater ACPS. And, ideally we would like him to take up Higher Chinese. I understand that as ACPS is not a SAP school, he will not be able to do Higher Chinese at lower primary. However can anyone please advise if he would have the option of doing Higher Chinese at Upper Primary should he satisfy the criteria to do so?
Thanks in advance! -

Any mummies here whose DS will be in P4 next yearโฆletโs try to make connections and form some parental support groups. I believe we need all the support that we can get to make transition for our DS as smooth as possible. -

2011 PSLEHi, I am considering to put my DS in ACS GEP. I've read some old posts in this thread. Glad that it's less stressful in ACS but I have a few questions
1. generally how do the GEP boys fair for PSLE? What is the T-Score range?

Anyone receive the class list for P1?
Understand the school will send the class list before school starts.
